Most likely spending a few nights on the Island next week to inspect a machine for sale.

Plan is to grab a car in Victoria and head up to Campbell River. Would like to stop in Nanaimo and see the Madill factory, not sure if they do tours or anything like that?

Never been to B.C. or the Island; open to suggestions on must see, eat, do or best places to spot some big iron along the way. (Happy to share some beers if anyone has hookups on a 044 or Super Snorkel / Snorkel or have always wanted to see a 4800 in the flesh)

Cheers!

Madill plant is gone. Not even a piece of pavement left. New development of seniors housing and care dealerships going in from what we hear. Sad. Regards d.d.

Yes, my mistake. Mixed that up. Knew the original plant got torn down several years ago, sad to see. A lot of history gone with those walls.

Was thinking Nicholson Mfg was in Nanaimo for some reason, even though it’s Sidney.

Hi, Nicholson may give you a bit of a tour, maybe call ahead PH: +1 250 654 2223, also check out the forest discovery centre in Duncan. Get a hold of member HDX, he will know where to see some stuff plus he has H17 now.

For tourist items, the museum in Victoria is probably one of the best I've been in. There used to be a driving tour of the old mansions that was real interesting as well. It's a nice place but gas prices will syphon the money out of your wallet real quick.

Looks like there is a 'just in time' equipment delivery system and 'anything that runs is in the woods' program in place (or hidden from the repo guys?)

Promac Equipment - saw, mulch, etc-Duncan

Jenna Equipment - Courtenay

T-Mar Industries etc- Campbell River

Menzies Bay Log Sorts, boom boats etc (Campbell River) (probably need to ask marine link tours how their passengers access the area)
