I thought about an 18, but I'll be doing very little car hauling-mostly lumber, rebar, small vehicles and tools-and weight and maneuverability are big factors. My next trailer may be an 18 or 20 ft tilt bed. Someday.

I'm buying locally, so I am, in effect, paying shipping costs to the dealer. I would not buy a trailer without being to inspect it.

I liked the PJ until I saw the angle iron crossmembers. They might figure that a car's tires are close to the crossmember attach points, so not that much bending force, but I may be loading other objects near the center, causing more stress.

How are those shipping experiences going? Is there anything that you will change?

I finally bought a 16 ft 7,000 lb car hauler made by Diamond C. I like it and have so far been using it to haul lumber. One small thing I don't like is that it only has 3 stake pockets on each side; I would prefer at least 4. When I strap down lumber the only easy place to attach the strapping is the stake pocket. I bought it from a local dealer for a total price of $3800.
