S630 hydraulic leaks

I just got a used 15 S630 yesterday and it appears to have some hydraulic leaks. The underbelly was full of hydraulic soaked dirt. Still need to get a owners manual and service manual for this thing as well. Plan to pressure wash it today and watch for leaks. Worried about getting water into the hydraulic fluid though. Looking for some advice and if anyone else dealt with leaks in similar areas. The gauge to check the fluid level on the side is full so maybe someone over filled it knowing it leaked.

I wouldn't even be concerned about water getting into the hydraulics unless there was a massive leak on the machine. Just use some common sense when washing. Don't spray hard on the hydraulic tank caps, sight glasses, gasket/o-ring seal flanges (like where 2 pumps mate) etc.

I'd start by looking for "clean" spots in the dirt. Active leaks will wash away the dirt. Remember gravity. If you see oil, always check above that point to see if the oil is possibly dripping down from above. After noting suspected leaks I'd thoroughly wash the machine. Get it as clean as possible. After that I'd do a pre-use inspection and run it for a bit to ensure oil isn't pouring out. If oil isn't pouring out I'd work it for 30 minutes or so, checking every so often to make sure oil isn't running out on the ground or something. Get everything up to temperature, make it work. Then go back and check the suspect areas to see if there's fresh oil there.

I think I may know what the issue is. I dont have the manual but im sure the hydraulic fluid suppose to be in the green on the fill level with the arms down. Mine seems to be way over filled and is in the green with the arms up. I think the fluid is coming out of the vent and getting pushed out that return line in the tank. I have new filters on the way I just need to get the hydraulic fluid and not sure how much it takes yet. I got it pretty clean now after pressure washing and scrubbing with a tooth brush and degreaser.

Looking at the 6472 pic what is that tank that hose is going into. Is that the gas tank or a hydraulic fluid reservoir? that fitting is kind of loose on the tank. The yellow cap in the first picture is where I think it is leaking as well.

Where is a good place to buy a service manual as well?

It is also missing some access plates in the front which is how all the dirt is getting in I think. Here you can see the fluid level with the arms all the way up.

1 more thing. The right drive stick appears to be angled to the right a little so it rubs the cab when you open it. Is the a way to adjust that?

I ordered a service manual so hopefully I can make more sense of how this machine works. The 6739 and 6740 pics is where its leaking gear oil I think. The other picture might just be hydraulic fluid leaking down there. Worried there could be some kind of internal leak between fluids.

Those access covers that are missing on the front don't go through to the inside of the machine. They are there to let you wash out the area around your feet in the cab area. Lots of people leave them off. Climbing in and out of the machine all day with muddy boots and it will accumulate pretty fast.

Hi JBrady, On this S630 they most definitely go through to the inside. I cleaned all of that out yesterday and pressure washed it. You could see the front access holes from the side access. It was full of dirt and took awhile just to dig it all out.

Hi JJay - I didn't know that. That's the way they are on my S250 and assumed Bobcat wouldn't change that. You just open a water hose right into the cab and it all drains out those front holes. Seems to work pretty well.

Yeah I got mine clean now to just get all my fluid levels right and check for leaks. I need to go buy some hydraulic fluid from Bobcat and a hydraulic filter.

All the service is finished on it now and I will monitor for leaks but have not seen any. Now I am thinking about OTT tracks next.
