Pulled transmission to change output speed sensor on trans and also replaced hydraulic pump due to slow steering and finding the control mechanism inside of pump broken and not controlling flow. Get everything back together and install axle shafts and unit doesn't steer. Pull the left shaft out of the very inner splines and unit turns but slide it in and have it engage the second set of splines and unit doesn't turn but the engine labors when you try to turn so it is like something is binding. Can't find anything online about this type of problem. Any help?

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
Is there any chance that you got the left & right axle shafts mixed up..?
All three shafts are different, and unless they are installed in exactly the correct order and also the correct orientation of the centre shaft (IIRC it will go in both ways, one of which is wrong) all sorts of weird stuff could happen.
