I remember those Checker Cab Cars well Many a ride home in the early 70's used to stuff a couple guys and 3 or 4 girls in to the back seat as well as a box of beer.... Oh those were the days.

I had a boss who seemed to collect those cars. Heavier than a 3/4 ton pickup, Chevy V8 for power and a slush box transmission but they never seemed to die. More room in the trunk than what you find in one of those sixties 3/4 ton trucks and probably heavier sprung. Heck, just the paint in one of those things probably weighed more than all the steel they put in cars now days.

Had the day off today so I decided to address the front airbags....Goal is to stop air transfer from bag to bag on the corners...
All research led to single checks in the lines...Quick thinking says this is the answer to stop air transfering on corners...I spent a few hours installing the check valves. My front bags are hardlined with 1/4 stainless tubing and swedge lock fittings. It was done with the engine "out"
I have a single schraeder valvegoing to a manifold for the bags.As soon as I started to fill it I realized this isn't going to fricken work...
There is no way to let air out if you over fill it...Check valves stop the air from going backwards.
If one bag leaks down you cant air it up and balance the bags...
I should have thought this through and drawn it up...
I have torn everything out...Each bag will be filled separately.
Options are auto leveling valves on each bag..A lot of plumbing and fitting.I don't have the need to auto level the front.
As the bags are new and good quality I am OK with this...(like I have a choice)
Lesson learned...

I just cleaned them up to bare metal and gave them a good coat of primer and paint. If I remember correct I had to address the bushings as well.

Retired.
A Grizzly chased me through Campbellton this morning but I left him behind at Home Depot.

Not sure but thought it might be Art Bowbrick.

Neat to see one out and about.

Take care.

While doing some internet digging I found this pic on facebook..Posted in the Four wheel drive association of BC's page.Pic was taken by a woman in Lordco's (Mission) parking lot....Good picture.
I had the truck at the Fathers day in the Park car show in Mission yesterday..Much bigger show than I expected..Met lots of people and spent a lot of time telling the history of these trucks and answering questions.I met a gentleman who says he did a lot of Grizzly's drawings and that he still has the files.I will be getting in touch with him and talking to him about them.

Round 3 with my front air bag plumbing...I made a small manifold from aluminum. It has (4) 1/8 npt holes in it.I added a .080 through hole between the two ports.I also tapped the outer portion of the hole to 1/8 npt to plug it and use it as a port for my in dash gauge should this all work..My thinking is the .080 is big enough to balance the pressure between the bags but small enough to slow the air down when the truck is leaning in the corners.
Lines are all steel braided with the proper ends..I will road test it this weekend.
Black stuff around the fittings is actually Permatex "The right stuff".....tired of leaks.grizzly 010 (15).JPG Grizzly 003 (125).JPG

These were just found on the ATHS group on facebook...
This appears to be a Grizzly with a different name and grille...Also if you look closely the fenders are attached to the nose so the whole nose flips..
I am trying to join the ATHS group as we speak and make some inquiries.
Pictures were take in April of this year in Sacramento.thumbnail_IMG_0743.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0744.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0745.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0746.jpg

Very interesting find, good to find out where they came from, and who was involved with the building etc.
