Hey everyone, first post here. Im an apprentice tech that got thrown into this issue on a Genie lol having no luck figuring it out so far.

Machine will drive fine while switched on high speed (level ground). Once you turn the switch to low speed (incline) the Steer Axle wheels start to lock up when trying to move. In high idle it’ll start to stall the machine and you can hear a clunking. On low idle it’ll crawl but the Steer Axle again will clunk and drag.

Drive motor is putting out 290 PSI and at when checked at the traction manifold it is putting out 260 psi. No codes on ALC board. Brake and 2 speed valves have power. Measured around 11V not exactly 12V.

Weird thing is, in the platform with the switch planes removed, if I grab a section of harness and have my foot on the pedal the machine will start to drive foward and Steer right. I’ve checked every wire for damage or breaks and everything looks fine.

Real lost.

If you can grab a harness, shake it with the platform/run pedal depressed and the machine does that you have electrical problems. Go to the Genie website and download the electrical schematic.....your going to need it.

I’ve got the schematic, and have spent a day going through it and the wiring. Everything seems fine and in the right place. I did have to fix two pins on the J2 connector on the outside of the platform but I didn’t see anything else. I’m wondering if the issues are connected.

I would bet they are. Have you checked the electrical cable pulleys in the boom? I have had the cables come off and stretch the hell out of it.

So it turns out the drive / park issue was hydraulics. Someone who worked on it before swapped the lines at the coupler for the rear drive / brakes (6c and 8c ports if anyone is wondering). Really simple I’m disappointed I did t catch it sooner.

Still have to figure out the platform, the driving/turning on it’s out when the harness is tugged, now it seems platform rotate makes the jig go up and down and the AUX pump toggle switch doesn’t seem to work.
