recently developed a headache with this machine, so far i have replaced the circut board with upgraded one with aluminum housing, new batt , new alternator
my issue is it will not go into gear on its own by the shifter (forward or reverse) i ran a jumper wire between two plug ins on circut board and have movment now but only in high gear (2 speed) anyone have any insight?
i have some tools (power probe, multimeter and electrical tools) this machine is out in a 3700 acre field with limited acess righ now. i have been searching for manuals , elec diagrams etc not much out there lol

Look beneath the machine, you should have 2 opposing solenoids and one hanging down by itself . Typically, you'll find a stem with no magnet. Then you'll find 2 wires rubbed off on the driveshaft. Let us know what you find.
BTW, who upgraded your electronics. It should have been a complete kit. Dashboard, ECU and in between harness. Plus the ECU has to be programmed. Was this accomplished?

it was like this when i bought the machine , worked great then just started this ..... guy showed receipts for work done and old part were given-dash is rough looking from sun bake, now the battery light is showing on dash as well but have 13.8-14.0 on volt meter at battery while running, also show same voltage at circuit board fuses.
no wires near drive shaft, on back of hydro motor for drive there is two solenoids on one side and two on opposing side.... can i energize each solenoid with power probe ? they should make a click sound correct? i will try to see if i can figure out how to upload some pics. also what do you mean by stem with no magnet??

One solenoid should be upside down. With the coil beneath the valve. IIRC that is your low speed solenoid. Usually it falls off, the coil hangs from the wires til the propshaft eats through the wires. Disconnect each one and measure resistance. Should be about 22 ohms each.

If you remove the airbox cover, you'll see the back of the alternator/fan . The ground is a flimsy little spade terminal that likes to loosen up and fall off. Check that. Otherwise, you might have a diode pack crapping out.

i took off the cover for oil cooler to expose wires for alt , everything seems tight no shafed wires or broken that i can tell , this machine has the deutz engine

Of course, only the deutz has an airbox cover. You may have a diode on it's way out. If all your wiring is secure and in tact. That harness should have a connector down by the motor mount. Its really fun to get to.
While you have that open blow out all the passages across the cylinder head.
Going back to your travel issue. I remembered something. Pull up your floor covering. There's a track that runs from base of steering column to ecu2 housing. Lift the cover and you will see a harness. Check for any damage. Especially down by where the tilt mechanism is for the column. The harness tends to chafe or chop right there. You may have to remove the plastic surround.
Good luck

thank you so much for the info !! i will check on that track in the morning. ive been pluging away on it all day , got the float control working, and quick attach working , still only goes forward and reverse in second gear though
