I have a JD 450E dozer that lost about 1 1/2 gallons of hydro fluid from the resevoir in only about 45 minutes of operation? There is wet areas on the right track and looks like around the inside of the sproket, also right side. Could the final drive/steer clutch seal be the cause or are they separate systems?

I have a 450B.
On mine, the hydraulic reservoir for the blade/bucket is on the right side, above the right sprocket. The control valves for the blade are on the right, too.
If the tank on the right is low, that is your hydraulics and not tranny or finals.
Look under your seat while working blade controls to check lines/connections for leaks.
JDParts online catalog has pretty good exploded views of all the components so you can get an idea of what is where.

Yes, i think my problem is from the hydralic blade control valve seals. I also have a fuel leak coming from the fuel tank but can't see any visible fitting leaks? Any idea what could be causing this? It is a small drip but over time it runs down the back and also puddles up on top of the transmission case under the seat. Thanks for all the help, new to dozers.

Mine has a sump and drain on the bottom of the tank.
If the hoses/fittings are dry maybe check the underside of the tank

I will do that Labparamour. Hope it is something simple and don't have to drain it down, remove it and weld cracked seams? It is what it is i guess. Thanks for your help
