On a side note we had a 670G that was giving us fits and it turns out there was a prefilter (smaller cylindrical unit like a gas line filter) in the line before the primary filter. It was full of crap. Glad you got yours sorted.

DB2, I used to work on a lot of japanese imports in New Zealand. Nissan diesels like the TD27, TD28 and TD42 often had a tiny filter inside the injector pump. You had to remove the fuel inlet banjo and fish around for them. It was amazing how much crud had made it through the prefilter and filter. Clean or replace and all was well again.
