Hello, I have a 2011 Deere 326D, 800 hours. I was moving snow yesterday and while I was backing up it stopped all of a sudden and beeped at me. Said see service code. I looked at the code and it says 2697.14 Left Joystick X-axis. The only time it will do this is when I'm backing up. If I back up slow it seems to help not stop the machine in tracks and throw code. But if I pull back all the way to go into reverse, it will move probably move 5-10' then stop machine and throw code. Let me know what your thoughts are. I'm thinking about taking the joystick apart and see if it is dirty and something isn't centering. Thanks.

Try a hydrostatic/hydraulic system calibration first as Zewten suggests. If performing a hydrostatic calibration make sure machine is blocked up off the ground. There is nothing inside the joystick for you to see or fix. It is basically a little computer inside. If calibration does not fix it you need the joystick....ouch!

I was looking at manuals to buy to show me how to perform the test, would I get the Operation and Test manual or the Loader Repair manual. Let me know, Thanks!

Well, I started the diagnostics test to see how far out of range it was, everything forward was at 100 percent; straight, left, and right. So I did diagnostics for reverse, said it was around 80% full reverse then would cut out and zero out, like it lost connection. Decided to take out the joystick and take it apart. I found a zip tie that had been cut got down in the joystick and was blocking the signal from joystick metal to the computer board. Very neat how the controls work, the computer board must have sensors that can "see" the joystick pins move by it. Took out the zip tie, and bam, works like new.
