How do you get the needle rollers out?

Are they supposed to be hard to move inside the valve?

Is he talking about the needle bearing for the shaft?

I thought the shaft used a bushing (but that could have changed). It has been quite a few years since I had these components apart. The steering column and steering valve are actually two different components (see attachments).

Only thing I saw was the #14 needle bearing in the column breakdown, which looks like a thrust bearing in the pic. Since he hasn't come back we may never know.
