Love my PT 70 When it’s running hate it when it’s not. Just picked up an RT 75 not sure of it yet. Like the improvements in the engine Compartment. Don’t care for the way it runs right now might just be not used to a new machine.

Barely adequate I’m 6 foot tall I think anyone any taller wouldn’t be comfortable. I believe it’s a couple inches less than the PT 70. Also I bought the machine with 40 hours and now I have leakage at the top of two of the injectors. this machine is much Louder than the PT 70. The loader arms have in some places over a half inch of slop side to side I think they left out some shims, Well I hope they left out some shims because if not, this is unacceptable.

Here is an update. Went and looked at some other machines today around town then went out to Caterpillar and test drove one of their track machines. The Caterpillar actually had more slop in the pins than the new ASV does. I couldn't believe it. Operating the Cat was okay but not as smooth as the ASV. Balance didn't feel as good. Inside the cab was nicer but the machine was also $15,000 more. Had a Kubota engine instead of a Cummings. Went back to the job site and the guys told me that the fuel leak had disappeared??? Now I'm not convinced it was ever there. Feeling better about the ASV purchase now. Still don't feel it's as nice as machine as the old PT 70, but comparable to a Cat for less money.

I have worked on a lot of ASV RT100’s and for the most part they are a cat machine. The 100’s run the same Perkins as cat and they have cat wiring and undercarriage. But I think terex owns the line now. I haven’t come across any new ones yet.

ASV holdings bought themselves back from Terex. So as far as I know no Caterpillar nor Terex involvement at this time. Still starts with the cat key though. My 2008 has the Perkins this one has a Cummings

CAT owns some or all of Perkins. The Perkins comes from England and the Cummings comes from Columbus IN.

Yes the CAT MTL series ending in 7 (ie 287) is an ASV undercarriage. There are are 3 or 4 design generations. When ASV (All Season Vehicles) started up Cat did not have a line of CTLs. Cat was either an early investor or partner. The older machines had Cat engines. The ASV morphed from snowmobile tech.

Back 10 or 12 years ago Cat had a 30% holding in ASV. That was before Terex became involved. Neither have any involvement now although you can still get Terex branded ASV's here in Australia

How do you find your leg room

I found the base seat rt75 provided me more leg room or at least a more relaxed leg angle than the upgraded seat option rt75 they had on the lot and I’m 6’4’’. I did a short demo around the lot, but will be doing an extended demo. Unfortunately the more info I gather, the more I think I need to go with the rt120 to get the kind of bucket breakout and lift power I’m looking for. I have to have the mobility and balance of the Asv, so its really my only option at this point. But maybe we need to get a head to head of Cats with an Asv undercarriage versus the same size Asv machine because I haven’t seen any info comparing the two.
