Cat D7D fuel filters

Fuel filter, i see the in line one, then the fuel line goes to a large cast housing where the manual plugger pump is, is there another filter inside this large casting, by the shape of it it looks like there maybe. Fuel pressure seems to be a little low.

Short answer is yes. Take four bolts off and the top lifts off to reveal four filter elements.

That filter housing likely hasn't been looked at for years, so be prepared for a dirty job. You might even have to take the housing right off to completly clean it.

Some of the most ignored parts as they do Not appear to be what they really are. Some just do not consider routine maintenance of these as a necessity, small issues cause BIG problems.
