I got up real early so i could drive a hour and a half to be there when they opened up.I got there and started looking around i didnt see it i ask weres the brake they said they sold it 3 days ago.It was a 6' i realy want a 8' and they told me what they got witch was 500.00 more what they bring most of the time.I was a little mad they could have taken the brake off there craigs list add. They had some ok tools i bought 4 things and about bought a set of SK wrenches but i already have a set that hasnt saw daylight in years.

Yeah, I hate it when some dumbass ruins your day, by screwing up an ad. If what I want ain't there, I generally flip them a nickel, and tell them to look at it real careful. When they ask what's so special about it, I tell them, its the last one of mine, they'll ever see...;)

It was for illinois bell, the slogan was, phone first, you'll always know.
Watch "1987 - Illinois Bell Commercial" on YouTube

I personally have had great luck with Craigslist. Been down sketchy back roads with no light or street signs. Got a bunch of enerpac and simplex cylinders and pancake Jack's and spreaders for chump change.
Got a guy selling a collection of 1"drive protos, Williams and Armstrong a 3/4" ratchet and a torque wrench plus a handful of armstrong large combos 1-5/8 up to 2-1/4 all for a ridiculously low price. Last one was a 1" drive Norbar torque gun . Works great. Again, less than a fraction of eBay.
Barn and garage sales are great options also.

I had thought about calling them but they didnt show a number they had a email i could have used and it had crossed my mine that would it be any thing i wanted in my price range. I would like a 6' but i am going to put sideing on my house and it wouldnt work to do the door trim. It will work out in the end it just throw me off. I have 2 to look at next week one is at a dealer and he may trade for a small lathe that i got to resale.

I saw a couple down near peoria. Nowhere near the price you quoted. Way way higher. Now, I see you're looking for a siding brake not a sheet metal brake. I guess there is a significant difference in price. The only one I see up here is only 30".

If he gets what he wants i could buy some here and haul them there and make good money for doing it. The 4 footer is priced about the same as here. The rest are a grand or more higher than what they bring here but tool prices are diffrent than other things when you need a tool you need it and its golng to make money so prtce isnt a big deal.

A friend found a electric over hyd pump and a 50tom enerpac ram for $200. He left work and went to go get it. Said it was in a bad area of town but for $200 and it works.

I went to a auction about 60 miles away today. The sale bill wasnt the best because they listed 2 miller stick welders but they also had 3 migs 3 small stick and the 2 big millers. They just listed a 1/4 of what they had they also had 3 brakes but none like i was looking for. I havnt been to a sale this year so i went. I was very interested in one of the miller sticks ac/dc because i have a small one ac/dc and it doesnt weld as good.I should have bid on one of the migs they sold first and went for a ok price but i was there for a stick welder. I ended up with both the millers for less than scrap price. The owner said one had a fan problem but didnt know witch one it was. I pluged them in ones fan is noisy and the others is stuck.

I went to 3 auctions, today, about the same distance away.. 1st was a bust, nothing there that I felt worth staying for. 2nd was 12 miles further, spent $67 on some misc tools, sockets, wrenches, in 6 box lots, and a box lot of about 15 E-track ratchet straps. Last was best, spent 5 bucks on 7 HD file cabinets, that bolt under any flat surface, these were NOS school lab locking boxes, new in boxes! Also got a table top lot, containing, among other things 2 lab electric supply units, analog, but still nice, and new in box! I think these today retail for like $3-400(probably more, as public schools rarely pay less than retail!). Got a long rainy day scheduled, tomorrow, for sorting through all this stuff!;)

Couple years ago there was an auction that was going to be amazing, big shop shut down. Crates of wrenches, hydraulic equipment, diesel testing stuff, shop equipment, the whole 9 yards

And I couldn’t go because it was On the same day as my sisters wedding. I seriously considered ditching it because that kind of auction doesn’t ever happen around here

This was a good sale. I thought it would take forever to get loaded when it was over or i would have bid on more stuff but i was loaded and gone in no time. If i would have drove my truck that has a crane or took my tilt bed trailer l would have bid on some other stuff that i probaly didnt need. I would like to have a auction or find a good consighment auction place.
