Another blue P16. I wonder who was the original owner. It says Timberwate on door. Pics were shot at Koprinos shop.
Short version...The truck is a V16 powered P-12 for I believe Montana. It hauls two ore trailers. They had two trucks built when I was there. The third and very last Pacific was built in the parts warehouse. The main plant was gone by then. Two of the long time guys I worked with were still there and built it...

The truck was built long after production had stopped but he really wanted another one and apparently he wasn't interested in "NO"..The remaining guys at Pacific made it happen..

Hank R video documented the build and most of its on you tube as well as a few videos of the trucks in action..Hank is also a Pacific Historian..

Very large trucks...The 24 trucks we built for the South African Railway were even bigger. You tube has some videos of them as well....Cory

What ever happened to these four behemoths in South Africa?
Now You could turn these into campers with the little structure on the back

All I know is 23 Pacific trucks were sold to South Africa, and 5 of those were Ultra with 800 hp and in January 2006 a major frame up rebuild was started and I believe they are still in use. The 18 small trucks are not in use and may be scrapped but not sure on that.

These are not my pictures sent to me. Beyel Bros. Crane and Rigging P-16 and a pre 77 since it has small windows. Thanks Cory for information on this truck.

Looks like this Canadian has found a warm dry place to work..

There are a couple of other pictures of the same truck, posts 548 and 551. It gets around.

Rollie is a quiet guy and I worked with him for 10 years. We got along well.He was our road tester and was the "only" one for years. He started at Hayes and was at Pacific till the end.He worked at Grizzly Truck for a short stint as well. For the most part he spent his life looking after Pacific Trucks. He and Mike Cannon were the primary guys on the build of the last Pacific built for Soda Springs.A talented man and I have the utmost respect for him.....I have many memory's of working with him.....

Rollie saying good bye......

DiamondTGuy,

I have a request for you
1977 built P16 WFP Unit #2212 Serial Number T771181051

Would you be able to tell me where she went brand new, looking for a bit of history. Her new life is going to begin shortly, picking her up next weekend and she is going to be made into a 3 axel ramp truck.
Yes of course she will be painted Red and White and with Steve's permission will be assigned H-12.

Thank you and have a good day.

The P16 pictured in post# 1609 is one Hugh Frechette worked on when he was at Dane's (wasn't too happy with the paint choice), that truck is now back in Courtney at Jenna equipment Corp. along with all the rest of the trucks from Parksville. The green machine was out on a rent to own, but the potential buyer sent it back. Check out the website, got a few pictures.

BTC. Doug Terry came down from North Island (WFP) and bought three of the old girls. They were parked up in the back lot at Cameron Division, and their futures uncertain. He came down and bought H64, H141, and H234 All three P16 Conventional trucks.H234 was a 1986 P16 Glider. All three would be gone over and put back to work The last time I saw the H64 , Was last year when we went on a quick road trip to North Island... Was good to see an old friend once again. I did however lose track of the H234 and the H141 and to come across this one was just a great time. Was good to see she was still partially in service. She came with two sister trucks H65 and H66. Mike Murphy spec'd them all out the same. V12-71-N 59-60 Allison and 91,000 Clarks 14 foot bunks.. 60 Ton trailers. The next P16 he ordered (1977) would be also a Conventional ,Only it would have a 3408 PC engine in her but same trans and rear ends.H67. Terry Haugen got the H-67 new and stayed on her till 2001 when he was seduced over to the dark side and went onto a highway KW till he retired. H67 would be badly damaged in a run-away up on BR 139 in 2002. Hayes Forest would inherit her and she was cut in half behind the water tank. They had bought a P16 Preload truck(Small Window Cab) from one of the contractors in Alberni and because they did not believe in PreLoad trucks, She would be cut in half and the rear half of the H67 would be welded to the front half of the preload truck This gave it a proper turntable and rigging. She is still in use today. It was one of the IPL trucks with an 18 speed trans in it H143. She was bought by a logging contractor up in Mahatta River. He would sell her eventually and now has a different owner. 075 can fill in the blanks and maybe get a current picture of her. H65 was rebuilt at Franklin and H66 would have a Mack E9 engine installed coupled to a 12 speed Mack Trans. Gary Cather's got H66 new and stayed on her till he went onto the H140 (H14) in 1989. H66 would be transferred over to Sproat Lake Division and that was the last we saw of her. I suspect she was part of the fleet that Lamare inherited when the big Weyco Garage Sale. H64 had a number of drivers on her and I will just check to make sure of the drivers before posting the rest of the info

Thanks for that Steve.
Jack Cote got H64 new and stayed on her for a few years before transferring to Cameron division where he would get a new Mack Highway truck. She would then go through a number of different drivers before being unceremoniously abandonded in the Cameron yard. All the "New" drivers wanted the big power trucks and always found a reason not to take any of the old V12 trucks out. Do you know if the new owners of H64 got the trailer with her?? Just might be interested in any surplus to them parts LOL. They will probably remove the logging rigging. Compensator bar ,Bunk and Water tank and trailer etc. Will look forward to seeing her "Work in Progress" pictures.
