My last dog was a blue heeler. He made sure everybody knew it was HIS shop! I think JD will be a good one. We went for a walk a few minutes ago to measure a counterweight for Crane Operator. I think I wore him out!

He had a couple accidents but this morning after he ate I took him out and he did his business. We are training each other!

What a handsome boy!
Be careful, the healer I had was smarter than me.

Back before I retired we had two greyhounds. I often remarked how on hot sweaty days that they were sleeping in the air-conditioned house while I was laying on the floor in the shop with a leaky machine dripping hot oil in my face that anyone that says "dumb dog" doesn't know what they are talking about!

I hope yours is a smart dog, ours that someone dumped out last year is the "dumb dog" that khansen is talking about.

She won't bark at anything except her reflection in a chrome bumper. Which she can bark at all day long.

That and she's long haired and sheds all over, so there's hair everywhere in the shop. Which I don't like. At all.

The best dog I had was two dogs ago- still miss having him around.

I think you'll be fine though- most heelers are pretty sharp dogs.

My grandma had a heeler that you would not exactly call smart, but she had some interesting heeler qualities.

She was a fanatic for sticks. She could count pretty well. She also had a mouth that opened like an alligator. So you could grab 6 or 7 sticks and stand up on this hill and hurl them all down in the pasture. She would not take her eye off your hand until the last stick was airborne. Then she would go around and pick up whatever number you had thrown and bring them all back at once.

They all have their quirks. My last one, Bear, kept a close eye on my kids when they were young. He’d herd them away from anything he didn’t like. Strangers would come here and he’d stay between the kids and them. He HATED going home. Sat at my door and cried until it was time to come back to the shop.

Cat killing machine! Hard to say the affect he had on the local population!

Look what followed me home today.....

Courtesy of Old Doug I added another SAE400 to my collection. That makes three of them. Why three? Because it’s better than two!!!

This one is gas powered. 1967 per S/N. Motor is free, brushes look good. Fuel tank is bad rusty inside but solid. Three of the four side panels are there, electric outlet is still there. Per Lincoln it was born with a magneto but at some point it’s gotten a distributor. I’m gonna dig into it a bit and see if she’ll run.

Not sure what the amber light on top is all about. Maybe a low oil pressure warning....? It’s not hooked up to anything now. Interesting thing is the sheet metal is straight and still has factory hardware. If nothing else it’s a nice parts machine.

I’d love to have a SAM. Not many of those around. Other than being big and heavy they are great welders. Heck everything I’m around is big and heavy so what’s one more big piece?

Good one!

Who's the Miller Big 20 expert here while you're talking welders? Mine won't idle up when I touch the stick to metal...works fine on high idle. I know it did this before and a guy that worked for me fixed it, but I don't remember what he did.

Don't give me no guff about a Miller either...I ain't no pipeliner. I'm sorry in advance.
