I had a new pump put on my D5mxl as the blade was not wanting to lift unless you messed with angle and tilt. When blade did come up and you set it back on ground for a minute it would do the same exact thing. We put new cat pump on and all worked well ,ran it about 3 hours then shut down for three days .Started it up on Monday and blade would not raise? Angle and tilt were slow to respond then pretty much quit working? Not sure were to start checking? Oil is up ,filters are new, no leaks?

Usually pumps fail for a reason....contamination from another component failure is what I generally see. You could have a cylinder making trash which fubar’d the pump and trashed the spools in the control valve. Take some oil samples and maybe open some filters up and see if it’s making metal.

Was the pump new from cat or used? Sounds to me like there’s trash in the control valve. That’s where I’d start assuming your pressure is correct and you’ve sent some oil samples off and looked at filters.

Yes new from Cat. Sent samples before new pump they should a bit of color. All new filters and oil now. How about a load check valve?

What’s your S/N? I’ll take a gander on SIS and see what I can come up with.

Wonder if you are experiencing a problem with your signal resolver network. We had a D6M that the blade would not lift quickly unless you bumped another function, at which point everything worked at proper speed. As soon as you stopped that operation you would have to do the same thing again to make the blade lift operate at correct speed/strength.

We replaced the primary resolver components first, only to still have the problem. We then changed the secondary resolver components and our problem was solved. The parts were pretty cheap, just a lot of labor and head scratching to get to that point.
