Figured I may as well start a thread on that old dog. For starters I'm collecting some parts and pieces, two long front
drive shafts, air ride suspension, gear box, going to install a HFB64055 power steering box from a R model.
And I disassembled the butterfly hood and my friend at the machine shop is rolling me out a new one just like the
aluminum one that's on it. First I will strip the cab and nose off, remove engine and trans then correct the frame
replace with new rail and extend it to 255 to 260 wheel base. I will work on body parts in the winter months.
I will post photos along the way.

If you get stumped on some of the cab parts let me know. Especially interior nick nacks as well as some of the chrome emblems. Tocci has all that stuff, NOS. No knock off crap.

Thanks, I'm going to need a Mack side hood emblem and a few other things. The big things are window sweeps, door gaskets, vent window seals and windshield gasket.
And a place to get interior headliner material. Watts is pretty crazy on there B prices.

Loads of effort in the KW!! Looks sweet!

The one interesting thing you can't see in that photo of the 69 KW is I installed 1998 day light doors. That was probably one of the first old cabs someone installed those doors in.
Because I built that truck in 2000 or 2001 and there were not many used day light doors available yet.

I am almost certain he still has that stuff around. We spent a lot of time selling fenders, doors, hoods etc when he was looking to move. He did keep most of the smaller stuff. I’ll send him a list and see what he’s got.

The guru says winshield rubber is available from Mack, he’s got a P/N. He uses the window sweeps from 50-60’s passenger cars. Door seals aren’t available but he’s had good results with 1/4” foam insulation, he’s going to see which he uses that looks somewhat correct lol.

Which specific emblem/emblems do you need...? He’s got quite a stash in the gun safe lol. I do have the clout to motivate him to part with one or two :)

Have done some good with McMaster Carr as well for some odd materials. Last headliner I built was in thin fiberboard with padding and then the cover glued to the face wrapped over the edge trimmed and glued then attached with a plethora of screws and upholstery washers.

Working on sorting out some body parts, Cleaned and straightened the hood hinge and support bows on the inside of hood, cleaned and stripped the paint off those.
Stripped the paint off a spare right fender looking for bad stuff under the paint-4 layers. That fender is in good shape aside from some small cracks on the edge and minor
repair. I'm going to remove the fenders and check the left one next but I think it's about the same shape. The guy I have doing the body work and paint Jose Palamino
dose damn fine body and paint and loves working on something that has some metal thickness.

Made some progress today, moved it up to the shop where all my tools are. Drained the cooling system and oil plus drained the fuel tanks and removed those. Removed the air tank
and stripped out the air lines and wiring to the rear. Cut the drive line out only thing left is cut the frame. Removed the exhaust, battery box and cables with a bolt cutter, torched
every thing else. Tomorrow I will remove the right fender and headlight door then remove radiator. After that it's unbolt and remove cab and pluck that Maxidyne and Quadreplex.
