skytrak 10054 boom wear pad replacement

You can access them from out side on the front of the boom .The inside ones are going to be a little more tricky .Tech tip before installing the pads use window dumb dumb or silicone the nut in the wear pads .You have to put the square nut in the pads .You have pull the the nut into the pad .They are pain in the butt. I am doing one at work right now .

the skytrak booms are dry, right? why no lube?
Yes dry .Grease will only hold dirt and grind you new parts down in dirt locations .You can stretch boom all the way out when done and spray a molly lube which will go on wet but dry smooth like glass.Just make sure the surface is good and clean before you put it on .I will get you the name of it for you .Do you need the operation ,parts and service manuals?If so send me you email address and serial number so I can email you the right books .My email is tool_king@hotmail.com if need.

jcb uses a waxoil on their booms and dirt doesnt stick. i have almost 5k hours on mine and never replaced pads. just shimmed once.
