I worked with an old highrigger (Wes Sealy) 35 years ago ,that worked in Menzies Bay back in the 40's. He said that they use to go fishing days off in a row boat with a hand line and catch large springs with spoons

Was a chockerman off an A-Frame at Caroline Lake mid 60s. Rivers Inlet area.
Trout would bite on most anything. One of the crew living in the married quarters regularly caught his family's supper during our lunch break fishing from the A-Frame

Was this a steam driven tug. If so what did it use for boiler fuel.

It is a steam tug, must be oil fired. not fuel barge with cordwood. BC Archives has the photos. Google Tug St. Faith BC.

Our friend Rob Norman has received some pictures from a Cousin of his . Included in it was some sort of a Crew list for W.D. Moore Logging Co. Ltd , Winter Harbour , B.C. and an old envelope that contained some negatives addressed to H. Johnson , Juene Landing , B.C. , do'es anybody recognize any of the Names or Equipment ?One name I recognize is K (Ken) Shobe , I met him at BCFP Renfrew Div. around 1970 - 71 . At that time he was Falling .

Am I correct in seeing what appears to be two tracked arch undercarriages supporting the machine? It would appear to be turntables under each end. If so, that is a pretty nifty way to maneuver one, you could crab it right where you wanted it with little effort. I was also noting the fresh/clean paint job and no roof yet on it. I wonder if this was it's first landing?

I thought of shovels at first, but they looked too small, going back and looking again, shovels make more sense. Probably just a smaller shovel.

I found an old Mack manual in the old Jeune Landing shop and gave it to Steve .Might be the one for this truck

The old Empire skidder from Mahatta had under carriage like that but it had solid road wheels .It is sitting under the Ingersol dump next time I am over there I will take a picture

Heres an A frame up in Gardiner Canal 1972. It was logging right around Europa Point. Sorry they not such clear pictures, best i could do with the instamatic at the time.
