More progress today and they are fairly certain they know the cause. Evidently her gall bladder is attributing to the pancreas issues. A few more tests and once her pancreas calms down a bit they'll do the biopsy. Slow progress but positive progress nonetheless. Thanks again to you all!

Like I tell the travelling religion folks that stop buy the shop & visit ...........

Use my trucks & equipment to solve the simple problems life brings us .

On the tough jobs prayer & positive thought all the way ! It works ;).

Massive amounts of prayer & good vibes your direction Junkyard .:)

Habit I got a long time ago was feel the wheel hubs with your hand after a haul on truck & trailer .Don't take but a minute to pick out a warm hub . Pretty low tech but you can spot a hot one pretty quick that way before the things burn up .

Thanks. I always walk around it and lay my hands on tires and hubs. It hadn't been 30 miles since the last time I had stopped. Just one of those fluke deals I reckon. Good thing is we didn't lose the wheels and hub. Bearings and a little labor was all it took. Dodged a bullet for sure!

We had one do that on our 55 ton Trail king, fortunately the boss had been pulling it and not me at the time, had to have Axle Surgeons come and replace the spindle and it took him a while because the axle tube was way thicker then a normal axle so he had a lot of machining to do to get the new one shoved in there. It was the middle axle so we dumped the air bags and chained it up. You did good on that one!

I really appreciate all the positive vibes. If nothin else I feel better lol. I'm hoping tomorrow brings a little relief for her. She's pretty uncomfortable.

Thanks all!!
Junkyard,
I also want to send some good wishes towards you wife! I can understand some of what you and she are going through as my wife has been dealing with kidney stone problems. A couple years back she had one on the right side laser blasted and from that procedure she came down with sepsis infection possibly due to not getting the right antibiotics.

Then a couple weeks back she had to have ones on the left side blasted, new doctor, and she has been in pain since then and has to go in this morning to see if they can get some more out! Then will have to go in again in a week or so to have stents removed!

Myself many years back had a ruptured appendix, doc sliced in and cut it out a week in hospital on IV drugs and I was good to go. Not sure if it's more the doctor or the way ones body deals with things but I know some can have a relative minor procedure that will kick their butts bad and another can have a serious problem and it's not much worse than having a tooth filling done!

Hope things go good for your wife!

I often wonder that as well. I've always bounced back quickly. Angela has battled autoimmune issues her whole life which makes it even tougher, that's why they're watching things so close. They're doing some more contrast tests this morning. I'd expect her to be there all week. Thankfully I've been working just west of Tulsa so I can spend time there in the evening. The human body is a strange thing. The doctor she has now is the head of the dept and asked a lot of questions and seems to have a course of action that reassures her so that's a good thing.

One thing it's motivated me to do is quit traveling. I've worked on the road since I was 19-20. I'll be 40 this year. I've had enough! I need to be around to help her and be more involved with the kids. Long overdue.

Thanks for the support! I've been showing her the thread and I'm sure she's probably been on here taking a look. Maybe she needs a MrsJunkyard membership! Haha

Found out today her gall bladder comes out. Once pancreas has settled down they'll do biopsy. She did get moved to a private room. They've moved her to a fluid diet so she gets soup etc.

On another note, while she's not driving it I've been pulling some PM on her car. Oil change, replace the $87 HID headlight bulb, front brakes due to warped rotors. The last sorry sob to do brakes needs kicked in the giblets. He/she broke an torx bit off in the screw and just left it! Grrrr. I welded a bolt to it and got it done. It also recently thrown a low oil pressure warning at me. It's not low, no noise no change in anything so I'm assuming sensor or trash in the little standpipe it goes in. Did some research, most techs pull the intake to get to it. Wtf man?!? So I reckon that'll be my weekend job. Oh and it needs to rear air shocks, brake light switch to cure the inop cruise..... but it's paid for!

Thanks for the update Jeff. I was going to call you this evening but was thinking you are probably at the hospital. Our prayers are still gong your way. On the way to Lake of the Woods last Saturday afternoon we met a "Saturday" loaded log truck that was setting on the shoulder with a burnt looking bearing and spindle sticking out on the driver side steering tire. A full 1/4 mile up the road there was the tire out in a field along side the road. I would have hated to catch that one in the front of the F-350. A repair service truck was pulling up as we went by so we did not stop.

You can get it without pulling the intake if your arms are long and skinny!

That's what I'm hoping. Damn thing was going bat$hit crazy on the way to town. I figure it's fine or it'll scatter! Then we will do an LSX and an 80mm turbo....NOT lol

Have to love people who do those things! On the Yamaha forum I'm on a lot they are always bitching about the PO's "previous owner" all kind of nasty crap is found on those bikes from back in the 1970's!

And while we are talking about wives, mine went in for her second kidney stone procedure yesterday. As the doctor was running a few minutes late wife had extra time to talk with anesthesiologist, same one that work with her last time, after discussing all the problems she had with nausea the first time they decided on a different course of action.

Last time it was several days before she could eat much more than a few saltine crackers at a time. Last night less than three hours after the procedure she asked me to run out to a local restaurant to pick up an order of Nachos with Roast beef! So what ever the guy used sure worked much better for her. I told her she should make a note of what was used so if she ever need anesthesia again she can let them know what works for her!

Hope things work out good for your wife!

Another update, this is becoming quite the saga!

Gall bladder comes out tomorrow 7:00am. Should come home tomorrow evening. Making positive progress on all fronts so far.

Got most of the piddly stuff done on her car. Oil pressure switch cured the bells and whistles. Heated/cooled seats are functioning again. Replacement rear shocks should be here tomorrow so that will cure the bleeding off and almost endless running of the compressor. Haven't figured the cruise out, switch tests ok but research shows that to be the issue 99% of the time. Typical mechanic, work on everybody's crap but my own!
