Your most likely on the right path here. Hope the following helps. There are up to 3 switches that are in series ( bar, seat, door) that form a continuous path to ground. What they are grounding is the safety relay located in fuse box. Bypass bar switch like the seat switch was done, see if this helps. By raising and lowering bar you should get the relay to click in fuse box. If not, replace safety relay with like relay from another function, maybe aux, lights can't remember which it is. Check safety fuse which powers relay. When grounded relay sends power to solenoid on pilot manifold, access is by pulling pan under your feet.
