I have a komatsu d38p1 dozer that the right final drive gave out. A buddy is helping work on it and thinks it can be rebuilt with seals and bearings. I've called about every place.that shows up on google with no help. Would buy a reman or even salvage take off. Machines been setting for 3 years at this point. Anyone the authority on these things? Seem to he the b*****d child of komatsu dozers.

if it is a d38p-1 should have a s/n # start with a P then it is a true dresser dozer with komatsu decals and paint..
if it is then you will need to remove fuel tank and enter trhu top of steering case...sounds like the steering shafts have cammed over ..or the shaft is stripped out ...trouble shoot per dresser not komatsu

drain final drive ..see metal chunks then pull it..if not go thru top side
