Oil change interval

The maint. manual for my D6c recommends 250 hours between engine oil changes. On a tractor that doesn't see more than 100 hrs. / year, sometimes less, how often would you change the oil? I was thinking of cutting it in half to 125 hrs.

Dunno mate things may have have changed with oils and such but around here there's a big oil change day at Christmas and all my old stuff (petrol or diesel) gets changed if it needs it or not.

Like that's tractors, air compressors, tillers and what all that do a few hours as needed, the mower that works regularly gets its normal hundred hourly.

I might add 250 hours used to be the standard for everything . . . I can't say how horrified I was when I bought my first Japanese pickup with 50 hours oil changes recommended i.e. (5000 kilometers.)

Annual is good enough for limited use machines. Mine get changed minimal hours or not.

I think 125 hrs between changes sounds good. I do our D6C around about that time between intervals.

Yair . . . okay folks this is getting old,

I replied to this thread earlier today and when checking back on the site I see D6c10K has made another post.

I open the thread and all I see is the original post I replied to . . . the earlier post of mine and presumably D6c10K's reply do not show.

There is a tiny window "Go to First Unread" but it never does anything when clicked.

Now a one line banner has opened. Messages have been posted and asks if I want to view them . . . of course I want to view them, that's why I'm here,

I sure wish this site can soon be sorted, it's bloody annoying.

Cheers.

Yair . . .

For the Mods (if they see this) my #6 post went up along with #4 and #5 . . . still no original post of mine.

There is a banner telling me there are more posts to display . . . I hit it and the page refreshed showing all posts including #2 and #3.

It all seems pretty convoluted.

Cheers.

An upside down one most likely....

On occasion I don't get updates and have similar issues to Scrub. All I ever use is my phone. I'm not as affectionate as him with all the kisses though..... xxxxxx

Yair . . . .

Gotcha fellers. Using Windows 10, latest version. oil changed and lubed and boost pressures checked just last week . . . they reckon it's working fine.

It's annoying that this site used to be the best I ever visited and now I have these (admittedly minor) but annoying issues.

The good thing is we now have what seems to be a reliable almost affordable fast satellite connection . . . touch wood . . . every where but HEF it's working fine.

Now I see between #5 and #6 posts a little banner asking do I want to see more posts on this thread.

Cheers.
