EWK is out of business. Badger is built to order.. Gradall and TML are production built.

IMO telescopic machines have a place. Very good at grade work, surprisingly efficient at moving/loading material. Also work well in confined spaces due to the boom. But they are not mass excavation or heavy lift machines.

Getting an operator to adapt is a problem. A telescopic machine doesn't dig like an excavator. But they do slice very well. Think slicing cheese when using a telescopic boom to dig.

I agree with the previous comments. They are a versatile tool, but nothing comes without a cost. I've used for septic work, finishing mound systems (above grade piles of sand, rock and topsoil cover), and it's a nice substitute for a dozer for that, as the blade moves, without track damage, ditching is another good application, for same. When doing soil pits, for evaluation, I can squirt into trees, without having to cut them down. I've used extendaboom, rubber tired Deere and Case machines, so haven't had the full versatility of the Gradall shown in first pic, which would be nice with the swiveling boom. Similar machine that I've used is a Cat 120 excavator with swivel bucket, which, again, is really nice for finish work, but you give up a little when excavating.

Many operators prefer classic articulated excavator, the telescopic prefer to pair it with the demolition hammer, they said they are very much used in the steel mill merger to clean large ovens, blast furnace bottoms and slags,

Some operators told me that they could be used in tunnel tunnels, under bridges or railway jobs under the power lines for bulky reasons they are more compact and therefore more secure, they can not fall on electrical wiring or other dangerous clashes in particular Rotation phase

Telescopic boom excavators are used to clean Ladles and Furnaces in Steel mills because they are one of the few machines that can do it. Maintenance on the boom hydraulics and rollers is definitely not cheap though.

thanks for your testimony of your intervention and your additional explanation, from my parts do not use these excavators only the classic ones, that's why I asked for clarification thanks again for your precious time

Some counties out here use them a lot for ditch work. Those units are on tires and will drive to wherever that are working.
