I got a chance to weigh it yesterday, dozer full of fuel is 57,200. Now I'm looking for a different truck with a pusher axle.

New D7E is ugly, with that single lift cylinder. And I really like the high final drive machines, so I'm not sure why Cat went back to an oval track with the electric D7E. But that's been debated before so don't plow that ground again, haha.

It's a shame you gotta get a different truck. I this state we can put 46k on the tandems and 60k on the 3 axle lowboy, so a D7R would be an easy load with no pusher.

I forgot to mention that a pusher axle is pretty easy to install if you have enough room on your truck. We've put a couple on dump trucks here in the shop. You just need a mag drill with the proper cutter bit. Last one I did was a non-steerable 20k axle that I bought for $800. Didn't have wheels or tires, though.

Here in the Midwest is all too true as to axle limits for trucks, only place can get higher rate is in Commercial Zone transport in major metros.

so the 7E is ugly? you probably would think differently if you were in the drivers seat. I think they are fantastic.

Well not ugly, as in twin-engine Euclid ugly, just different. I'm sure the unobstructed view is very nice for grade work. I was just thinking the other day as we were doing some dirt work with the D6R and D6K2 automatic control dozer how far we've come since I followed my father around when he had a couple of 17A's. Land was cheap, diesel was cheap, and he bought a new Ford pickup every other year because they wore out in two years. Don't want to go back to those days, either.

I actually prefer the low height oval to high tracks, seem off balance in some conditions.

ETMF.. I don't know, I got infected with this bug back during the about the same time with 14A's, guess I must be getting lazy. all the farmers have better iron than I do now so it really doesn't matter much.
