Anyone have any experience with these? Reminds me of the Smidt blowers you see on Unimogs. Looking at it piques my curiosity. Looks like it was introduced a few years ago but I can't find a lot of information on it.

They have one here at the airport. They like it because it can keep up with the sweepers and plows. I cannot speak on the reliability because I am not working around the airport anymore but I will ask my old student who took my old old job and ask him when we have a few wobbly pops this afternoon.

RonL : ….I checked into them last winter … contacted them about it, got some pretty Vague answers and a Lame Video ….they were Demoing it on a Cat ??? 299 Skid-steer ….. It does look like a Replicated Euro Style Snowblower, like the Kahlbacher, Westa or the Zaug ….. they were pretty sure it was going to be in the $25,000 to $30,000 price range ….. when I asked what they were using for Steel (mild, AR, Hardox, T-1 or T-3 ???? ) they couldn't answer ??? …..WTF…… with a price tag like that Would You want to be the Guinea Pig ??? …. I think NOT … I'll save my coins and buy a PROVEN ONE from Europe … but it would be really nice to have a NA built one if they could ever be Realistic !!! …...

My interest wasn't piqued that much. No wonder you don't see any users reporting on it.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY !!!! …….. I looked into the Euro ones and with the Dollar to Euro conversions maybe 30-$35,000 ….. and you don't have to deal with an unproven proto-type …… I got actual specs and prices from the Austrian made Kahlbacher …. they are made with Hardox steel the augers & fans especially !!! ….. and the fan has a clutch that will disengage when something is too hard or …. LOL … not meant to pass thru the fan/schute …. (like rocks and Firewood … or conc stairs … LOL) ….. another valuable feature is they have the ability to control up to a 10-15degree oscillation left/right, like if you come across a drift and need it to tilt and dig in on one side to get you back on grade ….. The Schutes rotate on a bearing, NO SLOPPY mounts … The North American Blowers brag-up 30-40' of throwing distances …..the European ones 30-40 METERS (like triple the distances) …….There is NO R&D needed to own one of those …. Just a big FAT Wallet to buy one !!!

Cheers … GK

Craft Are you still running your Buhler snow blower? It looks like they may have been bought out. Their
new blowers look much more like an Erskine blower. Any thoughts on their new changes?

Yes I am ! …. haven't seen any new pics yet ….I know they were making changes to the housing …. didn't know if it was a permanent change or not ….. by goof they sent out the blower housing only and nothing else when I ordered mine … then mine showed up and was the one I ordered …. You say they are more like an Erskine ??? … did you mean they have no more chain drive on the auger OR ??? … did you mean the shape of the Blower housing only ??? …… So far mine is hanging in there … replaced a few of the bearings, and as a result when the bearings failed it ate up the chain …. it was pretty cheap to replace them tho ……. replaced the schute UHMW liners too …. Too much abuse from those loose gravel driveways … LOL ….

As I posted earlier I'd really LOVE to own one of those Euro units …… Might get one of the family members in Austria to go and maybe get me a deal on one …. still not gonna be cheap …but will probably outlast me …….

Sorry we must be talking about a different one and i assume since this is the compact site you are not talking about this one. You will not get this one for 25,000-30,000.

I believe snow blower of discussion is at:

http://snowwolfplows.com/products/ultra-snow-blower/

Craft If you visit Buhler's website.

http://www.farm-king.com/Region-US/allied_by_farm_king/hydraulic_drive_snowblower/hdsb_features.php

You'll find they are being built under the Allied by Farm King name. I guess they are a subsidiary of the Buhler Corp. They did eliminate the chain drives to both auger and fan.

In their words "Allied by Farm King hydraulic drive snow blowers have hydraulic motors mounted directly on the fan and auger shaft eliminating couplers and chain drive assemblies for simplicity and ease of maintenance. A hydraulic relief replaces traditional sheer pin technology for increased productivity and reduced downtime".

The blower chute is much shorter. Resembles the Erskine designed chute. Also rotates by a chain drive.

I like their improvements and always liked their rugged construction. I just hope their not getting away from their quality. Maybe someone on here is using the new and improved blower and can gives us some feedback.

…………

Haha !!! …….. You're a Funny Guy !!! ……. If you look a little closer to the beginning of the Vid ….. That's the "Austrian Made" Kahlbacher ……. But ya we are talking about Skid-steer mounted versions if that's what we will call Compact ……. The Commercial version Allied/Buhler Skid-steer/Compact loader Blower is built heavier than most of the 3-point hitch versions (Yellow by Colour) ….. Is the model i'm currently using ….. But if you are comparing the N.A. models of Blowers (All of Them …. until i'm proven wrong) … then YES they are Cheaper built than the European made Brands ….. Starting with the quality of steel to the designing features …..

JGS : Wow as I haven't been to the Allied site for a long time … I see what you mean by the similarity of looks and design with the integrated hyd motor in the auger ….

The Snowwolf site is exactly the one we originally were talking about ….. did you click on the 26 sec Lame video ??? ….. the one on the web page has given me a diff look at their blower ….. if you look closer to the one in the vid … the BS schute is is spraying snow in a blown apart (kinda fanned out) spreading snow everywhere instead of far away from the windrow …. if you were blowing to clear in a more forward direction probably 75% of the blown snow woul land in front of you to have to re-blow it !!! …. WTF what a waste of fuel and time …. 2nd … if you look at the wetter heavy snow they're blowing … look at how much snow is shooting back at the Skid-steer (@ the elbow of the tipper) ….if that's a looser powdery snow … you'd be in a constant snow-storm and frozen, iced up windshield ….. So now if you compare the one in the vid to the new pic on the web page you'll see they painted the left side strong arm yellow and now you can see they too built the Hyd motor into the auger, and it also appears that they've changed the Schute design …. Is It Better ??? … Who Knows ??? ….
I Know I will never buy one of those with-out a Demo FIRST !!! …. and that could be a problem because I know of NO Dealers in BC. ……

As I said my interest was piqued by this originally, but there is almost no information to be found. The video available is less than impressive. And at $25,000. I'll pass.

Dose anyone have any experience with Cat snow blower attachment. The inner impeller design is different from most all traditional designed snow blowers. Was interested how they perform and the durability?

Husqvarna 961830003 208cc Single Stage Electric Start Snow Thrower, 21-Inch is the latest best snow blower hub known to me so far.. It has manual chute deflector/manual chute rotators.. This is the nicest snow thrower I have used. The build quality is what you can expect from Husqvarna, excellent. It has a solid feel and look with smooth operation. Starting is as easy as you could ever wish for.

Hi all,

I know this post is old now, but I found it in a search and wanted to make myself available for any further questions about our UltraBlower. Since you've looked at our site last, it's probably been updated, so have a look if you haven't recently: http://snowwolfplows.com/products/ultra-snow-blower/

As far as any spec questions that aren't already covered, feel free to PM me. Sorry about the video quality - we're trying to get some better videos this winter, if only it would snow in Minneapolis!

For those of you who are posting from Massachusetts, I'd be happy to put you in touch with some end users that I know of in your area who use several UltraBlowers. Although it's not as expensive as what is listed in this post, it's a significant purchase and I can understand anyone who wants to see it work or talk to an existing user before investing. This is a serious blower, for a serious user.

Thanks for your interest.

I have a Cat 318B now mounted on a 289D CTL high flow. Pretty rugged unit. It was originally on my 268B, so it is a little narrow. I use it to blow back snow banks and piles. It is very rugged and does the job well, very few problems. I do not use it every storm, plowing is faster for me. I just use it when I run out of storage space when we have those 100" seasons! I do like the lack of a hard shear pin when I blow back frozen piles, my tractor mounted blower breaks a lot of ribbon shear pins when doing that.
I bought it as a used demo unit a few years back for under $6k.
