The track dump looks like an undercarriage salesman's wet dream...

I gotta say I've seen some Chinese versions of this machine, thought they were the most worthless idea I had ever seen. I stand corrected. Good luck to 'em though, there's bound to be a very few special cases where you need something like this.

Yes, all the rubber tracked machines are low ground pressure, good ride, minimal ground disturbance and decent speed. Steel track carrier machines typically have few or none of those qualities, so the demand is much lower, they're only useful in situations that would destroy rubber tracks.

Trombeur, all I can tell you is that Zeppelin is the German Caterpillar dealer and likely involved in other industrial endeavours as well.
We have a 563E roller that is from their rental fleet and it has several Zeppelin tags on it.

then zeppelin is a trader a dealer an importer, not a manufacturer of earth moving machinery, networked fact there were no reports of a zeppelin manufacturer, with the clarification

trombeur,

Since there is some discussion regarding the Haddick, here's a post on it from the past:

https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/threads/cat-tracked-dumper.30042/

To answer your question about the Zeppelin small hydraulic excavators and small wheel loaders to the best of my knowledge; the excavators were Sennebogen designs with some being produced in Germany by Sennebogen and others produced under license by Unex in the Czech Republic and the wheel loaders where produced by Schaeff in Germany.

First thing I'd be doing if we ever had one would be painting "LED" in front of the name lol.

I actually saw exactly that in the Netherlands decades ago! It was on the weekend and somebody had graffiti-ed(?) the "LED", and I'm quite sure that it was removed or painted over in the next week.

Well the original zeppelin company is cleverly disguised and hiding under a circle ZF logo, and have been making gears, housings and such for everyone for a very long time!

trombeur,

Sennebogen produces a very high quality machine in my opinion and in the last twenty years their scrap handlers have become very popular in my region. To learn more about them, check out www.sennebogen.de

Well the original zeppelin company is cleverly disguised and hiding under a circle ZF logo, and have been making gears, housings and such for everyone for a very long time!

To the best of my knowledge; Luftschiffbau Zeppelin was established by Count von Zeppelin in the mid 1900's with prototypes of LTA aircraft and he had created the first "airline" Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-Aktiengesellschaft by 1909. ZF which stands for Zahnradfabrik was established in 1915 out of necessity and was the first subsidiary of what is now a huge conglomerate. The war was coming and Daimler was no longer able to produce bevel gears for Zeppelin, so they created their own gear factory. And that was the beginning of ZF (which stands for Zahnradfabrik) who actually purchased TRW a couple or three years ago.

I agree that it would be fantastic to have such a reference source, but who will create it?

There are brochure collectors all over the world who could contribute information, but finding them and getting their support for such a project could be difficult.
