we just acquired a dozer with topcon gps on it. My question is how Carlson and magnet office compare? I will be making the models but all my experience is arcgis. I'm not sure which would be easier to learn, and if they have differences in accuracy? Thank you all in advance!

Carlson is AutoCAD or InteliCAD based, so the question really lies in what your skill level is with AutoCAD/AutoDesk products since the engine for Carlson is CAD. Magent, from the guys that are Topcon users, are mixed; some like it some dont. Personally I love the function of Carlson Takeoff not only for 3D Models but for earthwork and paving takeoffs and i build 100-150 models per year from site, roadways, and airports. If you would like shoot me a PM and I can give you my contact info to help steer you in the right direction.
