so its been a year or so since we traded the 2013 jcb 205 in on the bobcat 2016 s595 joystick machine so i figured i would do another review. basically, i just drive the old manual controlled 2013 bobcat s570 machine most of the time because the old school classic hand foot machine is the only way to go. the 595 pretty much sits in the shed and looks pretty. unless your driving for 12 hours a day, joystick machines are pretty much a joke. i will fight this claim to the death. the sjc on the bobcat is much better than the jcb ever was, but for old school dairy farming operations joysticks really don't work out. lots of local dairy farmers have tried non hand foot machines, but they always end up going back to manual hand foot. the local bobcat dealer scoffs at joysticks, and almost refuses to sell them for good reason; and it is very rare to see an sjc machine on his lot, unless its an all wheel steer machine.
the jcb cab was amazingly ergonomic and comfortable. the bobcat cab has much to be desired. sjc lever effort and throw is terrible, and the cab is definitely not luxurious like the jcb was. bobcat machine itself is better than jcb was though.
jcb machine was a great luxury cruiser for the gentleman hobby farmer who doesn't have to get much done fast, and always keeps his equipment under warranty. the bobcat s595 is more of an appliance machine most joystick guys will be able to hop in and get work done no trouble at all.
but at the end of the day you will find me in the loud raddly kubota powered classic bobcat because that is the unit that gets stuff done fast. added benefit on new bobcats: 25% lower manual lever effort; finally a decent factory ride control option. but on a bobcat, you don't really need ride control because of the smooth riding nature of a bobcat.
in the end if a guy would put the jcb cab on a bobcat machine, that would be what you would want. if you really want a joystick machine.
