I have a 1989 740 Champion Grader. When I try to use the hydraulics I need to pull 2 levers at the same time to get any response. Any ideas what I need to look for?

Is that with all the hydraulics? Is that just the wing? Is that the main grader hydraulics? Is that happening just with one or two functions? That one should be open center hydraulics with the pump drove off the bellhousing. A couple hoses mixed up can do that (if it's just happening with say 2 functions). Is there any hydraulic force there? I wonder if the relief has given up?

You need to put a gauge on the main pump. Check main pressure and check the case drain. Main relief might be the problem. I seems to me that you don't have enough pressure. Each lever operates a separate spool for each hydraulic circuit so I can't see how pulling two would help. Maybe give Jade Equipment in Edmonton a call. They still part out these old machines.

It happens with all hydraulics.

Thank You. We are checking pressure. It has to be something simple.
