Hey Reg...Its even a tell-tale tach....The early Cummins 6bt's have no tach sensor on them..There are only two options for diesel tachs and the other one uses a clamp on sensor on the alternator.It has to be calibrated after you install it.(not sure how you do that)..Not sure why a diesel tach goes to 6,000 rpm..I will play it safe and keep it below 5,000 rpm

Yes Hank...Its a Autometer Monster tach..Same basic style I have in the Mustangs..Go with what you know

Willie....that's a bloody good question...It was the only 2wd one built that I am aware of.I can only guess that 4wd was pushing their engineering skills,budget or time frame on the first truck.I very nearly walked away from it as it is a lot of work to convert to 4wd.....but I didn't and it is now 4wd....A Power wagon is a cool truck..I was considering building a Cummins powered one before I bought the Grizzly.

Quite a few of my friends are Harley riders and I have heard from two different groups of a possible Grizzly sighting in Chilliwack..Chris managed to get some pics a week ago of the truck...Its actually a baby Kenworth...I find the cab and doors very interesting....I don't have any details other than the owner does know about Grizzlys and he didn't have a problem talking to Chris or letting him take photo's...









I am still trying to find truck # 3.Its the grey one and last seen out in the valley...

They do look like Willys doors....
I have a friend in Langley who says there is a green Grizzly sitting just down the street from him in a guys yard..He will get me some pics...No idea what truck this one could be but am looking forward to the pics..

Took the cab lights off today chasing the last of the leaks..I knew one or two of the lights were leaking as is the seam in the roof...I will spend some time fixing the damage under the lights and will gut the center seam and start over with it.Not hard to see there was some problems.I have new lights on order.Same style as it had but LED





Put some LED lights in the tool boxes..Yes the boxes are blue inside.Truck was painted blue for a movie and when it was painted yellow again they skipped a few places..



The fuel cap was screwed and I actually recognized it.It is a oil tank/reservoir cap assembly.I ordered a new stainless one and installed the 6' long screen/strainer it comes with...This should stop people from accidently dropping there cellophane weiner wrappers in the tank...



Hard to get pics right now as the weather sucks and the truck is in the tent with very little lighting.Its a little dark in there.

Here's the roof seam.Roof was built in two pcs and seamed in the middle.It has about a 3/4" return lip on both pcs pointed down.The return lip was stitch welded on the inside.Seam actually isn't in too bad of condition.The seam sealer let go along time ago and water was getting under it and the soon to be formed rust just helped push the sealer off even quicker...Seam was leaking water...

I have cleaned it all out and washed it with metal prep...Will be a few days before I can paint it so I have a heater in the cab drying things out and keeping it warm..

Hood is made the same way...

Found these today amongst thousands of pics and such. I believe Cam on the Island sent them to me with a bunch of truck info and videos few years back.Cory maybe has seen the cover brochure,if not,another missing piece then to fill in gaps.

That's a good question...I have never seen any prices on the trucks but I believe Art bought his new and I bet he remembers what it cost..
Hopefully in the spring I can sit down with Jean and go through the archives.

This truck is #13..I was told it was $75,000 new.I am guessing that it was built in 94/95

DT, thanks for all the info on your project, I always look forward to the progress of the Task. I'm putting these photos on here as you or one of the readers may know what this poor old working girl is. Looks like a hard life and has been sitting in this spot for about 2 years now. It did have company which has been moved several hundred yards away. One of those Spyder or Spider excavators that has legs instead of wheels or tracks.

dodge wc51 or wc52. world war 2 era, previous to the m37 model of the 50's.

I was thinking M43 at first glance but I am no Military era Dodge expert.Not familiar with the models Ben46a posted but I will look them up.Always liked the looks of them.Hopefully someone is still using it for something..

M43 I'd guess, but the missing components it could me M37. They were Korean War vintage M43 and other variations were ambulances, M37 (pickup) were multi purpose. They shared some components with the civilian Power wagon, but the Power Wagon was physically bigger with more weight rating.

The m43 and m37s lack the louvers in the side of the hoods and the front fenders have a higher arch as well.

Up here she would be torn apart just for those wheels. Collectors would do some very bad things just to have them. As we are talking other trucks right now I will bring up some Diamond T news..Some of you know I own a 1936 212BD Diamond T.My dad bought it in 68 and I inherited the truck in 88.I did the resto and then parked the project as I couldn't find a grille for it..Twenty years went by before I found a grille that was rechromeable...Anyways...I always wanted a diesel in it but couldn't find one that didn't require cutting the truck...I ended up with plan "B" and that was a 300 I6 Ford (not so stock,built by me)...good conversion but not what I really wanted..

Today I purchased the front section of a 2000 freightliner...130HP Cummins 4BT with a eaton 5spd..I am having it shipped up from Florida.More than enough parts for me to do the conversion..Intercooler and rad wont be used..I just have to finish the Grizzly and put my 68 Mustang back together first.Mustang should be back from paint in two weeks.It is a empty shell..

It seems I will be busy for a while...

I've always been confused about the Cummins 4BT. I know little about them, but have heard they are all essentially the same. I have two, One in a Dresser bulldozer, one in a Case backhoe. Mine appear to be identical, and both are rated at 70 HP. A company called Legacy Power Wagons uses them, and claims lots more horsepower. As the Cummins redlines at speed far lower than even the stock 230 flat head, they must change transmission, and gear ratio. It's an interesting conversion. How do they get all the extra horsepower? Unlike gas engines, you can't double the revs to double the horsepower. Diesel fuel expands too slowly.

I must have experienced a senior moment. The hood opens from either side. It's WW II vintage. The 3/4 ton WC had a very wide rear body usually with seats for men to sit sideways in the back. If I'm correct they were equipped with the Chrysler 216 flat head 6. I had a pair of 1936 Dodge Brothers trucks with them. They were not powerhouses!
