580K hydraulic fluid reservoir strainer.

I'm replacing the hydraulic pump on my 580K III. While the pump is off, I'm going to remove the strainer and see if it needs cleaning. Is the strainer something I should change like a filter, or can it just be cleaned and reinstalled. Thanks. John.
