953 Dip Stick

Ok we have another problem, 953 20Z 4cyl machine, can the engine oil dip stick tube be replaced with out dropping the pan, thank again for any replys

It is held in by a tube nut screwed into the block. It may be rusted in there pretty tight though. If you find an open end spanner starts to round it off you will need to cut the tube off close to the nut and use a six point socket.

the tube is broke down at the block, so I should be able to unscrew the nut and replace the tube, is that right?

If it does not turn out easy, before you round the nut off I'd try heating the nut up good and hot then let it cool. That might help break rust and what ever might be holding it tight. Just use proper caution and don't catch anything on fire!
