Small world. I would have just missed you likely. You probably know some of my old professors, Sean Bennett, Angelo Spano, Gus Wright.. and a bunch more that I can't remember their names. Owen something or other.

Had a blast there, and more importantly learned a bunch.

Yes, I know all of those guys, Owen Duffy would be the other gentleman. They all had a wealth of experience and knowledge, it was a great school for students to be able to absorb a lot of knowledge in a short period if you were an apprentice.

I'm going to assume that this Hillary person is someone who works at your local house of ill repute, or something like that,

Nothing local in NJ, she is the Big One in DC...
But that is a fitting description.

Looks like good reference material for the service truck, for hotel reading...

Will it be available in electronic format, it would be wonderful to keep on the lap top.

Also, consider yearly update to keep pace with changing technologies. Could be a yearly maintenance fee, payable to YOU...

Hey RB.......Thanks for the compliments!
My publisher talked about an electronic version, I'll have to check if it's still a possibility. For e-books I believe it's more like a rental fee than a purchase.
I've included a chapter on electronic systems and a section on emission reduction technology (SCR, EGR, HPCR, DPF's) in the Prime Movers chapter so it should remain fairly current for a couple years. The fundamentals of hydraulics, electrical and drivetrains don't really change it's more the electronic controls but I'm anticipating a need for a second edition in the next 3-4 years.
I can also seeing hydraulic systems becoming more efficient with the use of more regen systems and accumulators but that might be put off until the next time fuel prices spike since extra components add extra $$.

Hey Mr. Heard this is great news I was just thinking about you and your book the other day wondering if you had finished it yet.
Mr. Heard was my instructor last year.

Hello C A..........I assume you have graduated from Ferris Heavy Equipment program. How did you like it?

I will contact some one there to see if they would like to take a look at including my book in their program.

Thanks, Scott

Profrooky,

I am currently a junior in the program and the president of the after hours student organization, I sincerely love the program and adore the facility. I'm good friends with most of the faculty here and I have brought your book to their attention, however being a NATEF certified program places our emphasis on more of the truck side of things for students first two years for the AAS degree. The BS program (4 years) is AED certified and focused on the advanced equipment service and management aspect of the industry.

If you'd like, send me a PM and I will get you in contact with the upper level of faculty in our program.

Thank you

I would love to be working towards it but I have still not found a place to work. I am currently back to running a shovel and landscaping. I also do side work like I did before school but its mainly little things like change rubber tracks and maintenance stuff. for some reason I have gotten a lot of calls for leaking oil coolers and water pumps on 7.3 powerstrokes so I am pretty quick at them now haha.

I'd like to have this book to reference back to. I just can't shell out the buck 50 for it.

Sorry, I don't set the price, the only suggestion I have would be to wait until there are used books for sale.

I do know it is competitively priced with other similar textbooks.

Thanks, Scott

Hey CJR: Yes it looks like an electronic version is available and I believe there is a one year subscription for it. I have asked my publisher for details on just how that works. I'll get back to you.

Thanks, Scott

Can you get the book digitally. It looks like if you do it through pearsons then it expires.
