Takeuchi Parts??

I just bought a older Takeuchi TB35S , and I was wondering if anyone new of a parts distributor for the older machines..I am looking for some top rollers and planetary gears for the drive..Also looking for manuals for the machine

i just bought this machine and need parts also the final drive is messed up and has the hub missin i need to find a place to redo the drive the local dealer said i have to buy the hole thing for 2800 but i took it aprt and it appears to be rebuildable if i can find parts can any one help thanks mark

Help please, purchasing a 2000hr. TB016

Hey gang,
I'm brand new here and need some input about buying this rig.
I've been scanning the mini ex posts and have learned a ton but I know there are true machine operators here that I should listen to.
I'm considering purchasing a TB 016 w/ nearly 2000hrs. from a rental yard.
The cost is $10,500 and they'll deliver to my house.
So I checked it out today and noted the following,
Grabbing the boom and shaking things around I can see some pretty good play @ the pins/bushings from the bucket mount to the boom swing attachment to the under carriage.
Pretty much what I expected but what kind of $$$ is involved in re-pinning/bushing? I know I can use it as is but I would like to fix it up right.
Can this be done at home or is this machine shop work?
One thing that concerned me was the movement in the house also,a warning sign or normal wear and tear?
The Yanmar diesel started right up and ran smooth.The engine compartment looked real good-not detailed but no rounded fasteners and all original goodies.
No oil leaks were detectable at the cylinders or drive motors or the resevoir and manifold.
On one machine the yard guy raised the machine on the boom and blade to extend/retract the tracks.
Lots 'O' grease around all the fittings.
Any input would be appreciated.Thanks.
I'll be using this for surface work and foundation trenching around the house.

I am not an excavator expert, but I have a Tak TB135 and am learning lots. I have been doing some pins and bushings as I go, and have found the parts to be pretty reasonably priced. the next project is the pins and bushings for the boom swing, and the boom lift cylinder pins and bushings, as well as all the shims and dust seals. I am not sure what the spec for the side to side slop in the slew gear, but you might want to check the play in the slew bearing because that is a big job and an expensive bearing.. I think the spec on my machine is 2.0mm so if you have a dial indicator you can check that
check the pins to make sure the play you are seeing isnt just side to side, run the machine and push the boom down on the ground and lift it up a couple times and check the play that way

if you have the tools you can do alot of this stuff at home, but there are problems you can run into... my bottom lift cyl pin is siezed in the outer ears and I think I may have to borrow a thermic lance to punch it out, and hopefully the play in the boom swing is in the pins and bearings and not in the frame otherwise I might need a line bore... but thats all part of owning equipment.
the smaller pins here were about $50-70 and the big pins around $90, shims and dust seals pretty cheap

I don't now what you refer to as the 'slew' gear.Is this what rotates the cab?

I'll definitely operate it before signing a check
Are the pins tapered? The yardman made a point of telling me the pins come out one way.
What really scares me are the gear motors.I looked up some parts online...
$3200.00 each
No oil leaking from them but how can you tell if they're on their way out?

I was hoping a mini-ex pro would chime in on this but nobody did.. what I call the slew gear is what rotates the house, it is a ring and pinion type setup if I am not confused, the pinion being mounted to the slew motor. there would be some side to side play there that is acceptable, you can park the machine on level ground with the boom outstretched and grab the bucket and move it side to side..
I am not sure about the tapered pins or what the salesman means by that. I have only had one pin out to change the bushings so far, but I have some more I will be doing this winter.

as far as checking the drive motors condition, I am not sure how you would check that on site.

hopefully you made out well on your purchase if you did go with that machine

No purchase made as yet.
I did learn a little about 'slew'.It is the cab or 'house' rotation as you said.
I did look at a 1994 TB015 the other day.
Not being experienced with this machinery it came down to dollars & sense.
The fellow wanted 75% of what the previous machine cost yet I didn't get the feeling the machine was 75% the machine the TB016 is.What with a crack in the blade arm,repaired cylinder leaking,loose air bleed on the fuel pump/distributor.

Takeuchi TB35

Does anyone know how to separate the drive from the pump? I have the drive and the pump out of the machine in one piece.

Also, does anyone have a final drive for sale?

Case cx14 ??

Sorry to change the subject but I can't create my own posts yet. Does anyone have any experience or opinions of a Case cx14. I would really like to get a Tak tb016 but there are a couple of these cases coming up at auction. The specs show a bucket breakout force of only 2,400lbs, but does that really mean anything? The machine weighs about 3,200lb.

this post is for walt I was wondering how you made out with your final drive. I have the same machine and the bearing behind the sprocket is gone. I took off the cover and the inside doesn't look very good. So did you find any parts?

from my knowledge purchasing rental machines actually isn't a bad idea, normally the rental yards take very good care of the machines to insure they can be rented in the future, the operators of them might beat up on em a bit put they deffinately get the care back at the shop. I would have a generally good feeling when purchasing a rental machine.

The TB35S takes a Nachi KT-300 final drive and has not been supported for years.
It's Nachi, not Takeuchi. I visit Nachi factory often and they are supposed to support their final drives for 10 years, but it's more like 6 years.
As you know the TB35S is older than that, so no support from Nachi.
This is unfortunately one of the very few final drives that there is no replacement option. I stock over 200 final drives and have every dimension and performance spec you can think of deciphered for them and about 1500 others.
With all of that data and stock, there is nothing to use in place of the KT300.
That "size" of drive would cost around 4k if you were willing to do some serious modifications to your machine frames and your hydraulic connections. Even with that you would have to get a pair to ensure straight travel. The closest spec I could offer is 16% faster than the original.
I know this model very well and have been trying for years to be able to offer a solution.
Sorry for the grim news...
