So you may remember when I posted how my 350B wouldn't come out of first, and wont go in 2nd or 3rd. I took the transaxle to the local case dealer to get rebuilt, and they did it. But Now I see the problem... The first gear on the input shaft has a flat side and a protruding side. The protruding side was installed away from the gears putting the gear farther out in the case(1st photo,Pulled off shifter in 1st). the 2nd photo is before dis assembly. What would you do if you were me? Would case take it back and do it again? Could I get by for the moment with 1st the way it is? Im gonna call him on monday would like been there done that opinions, thanks.20160212_122932 (1).jpgScreenshot_2016-02-12-12-57-10 (1).jpg

You should absolutely expect them to fix that mistake with no extra $ from you. I don't see how they could have missed that.

I would almost want the John Deere dealer to repair it looking for other errors and back charge the Case dealer but you will need them too since you have a 580 so it is a little sensitive.Let us know what happened.Ron G

Hard to believe a mechanic would not test shift a transmission through each gear before buttoning it up and shipping it out. Seems like the shop that did the job should not only remove and correct the problem but supply you with a loaner machine to use while the work is done. Mistakes happen but when they do some one has to own up to it and make it right!

I would return the machine with the transmission still in it and let them pull it, repair it, and put it all back together and ready to run. Why tie up your time on their mistake. Agree with the loaner machine, but on second thought, if they screwed up the trans asssembly, are they compentent enough to repair the repair ???

I talked to the parts manager yesterday, aparently the serivce manager was fired on friday. I told him I would break the tracks back off and bring the assembly. He said that would be fine and they take care of it. I took the finals off when I brought it down there, but I think Im just gonna take the whole assembly. The dealer is a good hour away, so it would be a easier drive that way. I was sacred they would charge me to go back through it mainly.
