Looks like you're doing a nice job and that red clay hard material should be good for sealing the bottom.

Nice I'm guessing you work for a small outfit? Man if brought a dog on site I would get reamed at most of the places I've worked for.

Here is my chocolate lab Jax. When he was a pup he sat on the floor of my excavator, now he's a little to big at 100lbs!

On digging small lakes with dozers.

Hi, Bobcat Ron.
Might I enquire how else you would excavate a small lake if you have TWO DOZERS and NOTHING else? I certainly wouldn't put excavators into a job like that without trucks AND a blade-equipped compactor. And I have this sneaking suspicion that it might take a just a little while with a skid-steer/Bobcat.

Dozers do have the benefits of doing their own loading, hauling, spreading and 'sorta' compacting. Excavators are a bit like an udder on a chook outisde their own working radius 'cos they hafta keep RE-handling the material to get it to where it needs to go if that is beyond their reach. And they are a bit on the useless side too when it comes to compacting their work as they go.

Elevating scrapers are great - - - IF you happen to have them. Not everybody does.

Trucks are about as much use as a hip pocket in a singlet unless you have something at the 'source' to shovel the s**t on them and something else at the delivery end to spread and compact it.

Track and 4wd loaders work in similar fashion to dozers in long push situations, although not as economically for the size of the machine.

Nice photos, Hwimberley. Thanks for sharing.

wow chicken udders! i just got that. who milks chickens? "sfc But a dog is more dependable than a cat " dogs are lazy though.. well at least mine is. And he licks his own butt, which imo any animal who licks anybody's butt can't be trusted.

Heres a picture of my to dogs, one is a jack russell you can just see in the back window who also licks its bits, the other is not the most reliable komatsu. I dont need security because the dog wont let anybody within 10feet of the cab so a dog is more reliable than a cat
