That be the one Vigilant. That is a story unto itself. Took three years from the time they got in touch with me till it was released in June/96. They sent a photographer out from Ottawa twice to take pictures and measurements. I had no idea that to do a Cdn stamp just how thorough Heritage Trust Canada was. Right down to the inch. I will dig out the postage card that went with the first day release of the stamp. I wont even ask how a guy in North Carolina would end up with a Cdn stamp in his collection. Thank You.

Actually, sir, I pulled it up on Google Images. Just wanted to offer my own little tribute.

Immense respect here.

I am truly impressed LOL Thanks again Vigilant. Steve. Bp so now I have 5 pieces of equipment to look after not just 17 and her trailer Now two P16's a lowbed and two preload trailers to grease and maintain. That equates to 16 -- 12:00X24 tires on the lowbed trailer and 36 -- 14:00X25 tires on the rest I am tired already from just thinkin about it. Still too much snow out there. Gives me more time to plan the final trip day. Roads out there have been a disaster all through Christmas holidays. Feel sorry for the people that live in Bamfield because they have to drive over that road and WFP wont maintain it . Same with the people in the NitNat Village. WFP told us in Dec they could not afford a grader on dayshift NO MONEY for that kind of thing EVERYBODY FOR THEMSELVES. God if only we could turn back the clock. We had 7 big Smith sand box's on HDX's The 24 yard ones back then Three at Franklin Two at Sarita and two at Cameron Division. And to think they were all cut up!We have weyco to thank for that boner. I would rather boink around with the toys in this weather anyway.

I can see the writing on the wall. In your "spare" time just run grader out to Br 9000 and knock rocks off the road for the road warriors

It would seem that to many companies are run by bean counters, who have no idea what it takes to get the job done. To bad because in the long run it costs the companies a lot of money, and many workers loose their jobs. It all looks good on paper and the bean counters look like a hero, for a few years till it all caves in, but by then they have covered their tracks. Heaven for bid they ask someone who has been there done most everything and would know that it will not work that way.

Hang in there HDX at least Lyle did what he said he would do and one day soon you will have H 17 home and safe where she can be made to look and be like new once again! Besides I need to get a few more rides in a real man size truck, even if it isn't H 17 sure better than riding in a highway truck!

For anyone that may not have heard my dad John Salmon passed away on December 3, 2015. He drove logging truck at Copper Canyon and Nanaimo River camp for 44 years. There will be a memorial service at Moose Lodge in Nanaimo on Saturday January 30 from 1-4pm. Thank you

In that first photo of Post 1277, I believe someone previously identified the gent walking by in the foreground as one of our regulars here.
