Yassen that last pic of the 580 in traffic is classic! We don't see many side shift backhoes in the States but I can see where it would be very handy.

Not in my possession yet so technically I guess it's not mine but I have paid for it. :)

That's correct this ground was very sticky clay, and customer wanted 200mm wide trench to lay drainage pipe and back fill with "pea metal" My backhoe was the only machine I had that could do the job. The ground had already been laser leveled so just kept the same depth all the way to keep grade.
Modified the bucket on site by cutting out the sides to make a semi spade bucket. Easy to empty as you shake sideways and mostly came out in one clump! Trench lengths were 100mtr long and had 3 of them to do for a cattle feed pad, to be filled to top with wood chip.

Hi everyone, I recently joined this site, and really enjoy reading everyones positive comments to help each other out. The first backhoe I learned to operate was a 70's Ford 4500. Last year, when I was looking for a backhoe, I found this 73 Ford 4500 diesel 2 wh/drive shuttle shift, 2 blocks from my house. The machine was privately owned since new, it had been sitting for approx last 15 yrs both inside/outside in our Florida weather. It had less then 1100 hrs on it. I flushed all the fluids & hydraulics and got it running & drove it home. What a work horse. I'm still making improvements on it and have already changed 85% of all the hydraulic hoses. Still working out ll the bugs but it runs good now. I'm using it to help clear my 5 acre's down here. Here is recent photo when I purchased it... IMG_6870.jpg

Best case machine ever built as far as im concerned.i had a 590 sle and it was a thousand times better than the cat 432e that replaced it.do you get fractures on the silencer mount under the bonnet.

Yep,unfortunately. It is because the exhaust pipe is too heavy,I think... But I repaired the mufler a few times.
