Cat diesal generator

Trying to sell a backup Cat diesel generator
With the following numbers.

1p996s
-10-

It ran great 5 yrs ago was tunes up and fluids changed but the power co upgraded and we havent used it since.
It is on its own trailer.
Any suggestions who where to sell it?

If it's on it's own trailer and starts and runs, haul it to a consignment auction. What size is that? those numbers don't mean anything to most of us. If it's 4 cylinders then Craigslist is as good as anywhere, the bigger/newer it is the more you have to lose by selling too cheap, and the fewer potential buyers on Craigslist.

Yes we need more information, but I'll go out on a limb and guess this is a 3304 Genset. Just going by something in an older thread that mentioned the first number!(2p940)

I'd be looking for a tag or the remains of one on either side, seems like right side is the most likely just a bit below bottom of head. If no tag look for two small rivets or holes for them. There should be the s/n stamped in that area. Also is there a tag of any kind on the generator itself?
