Screaming ford tow truck assembly

how far and why are you moving the boats

i whipped up a blue print of how i'm going to tow these boats. it is simple by putting an axle under the back and then use the cradle to lift the front. i have taken a semi trailer axle and added 2 more feet to make it 10 feet wide. more to come as i build this.

Look's good KoO . That's how my 10' wide low boy was built , axils cut in half and add a two foot section . It works .

clintm -- we moved the boat from the east shore of kinoosao around to the west shore and dragged them out of the water. they had been sitting for 30 years and time to clean up. i'll then put wheels under them and drag them 100 kms to the Kingdom over the Kinoosao Rally Road. i hope to have one in the water next summer for a little fishing, lol.

td25c -- we are getting old, i remeber that post when chaz was still working a murray tailers. that was a long time ago, lol. when i widened the axles i used the tubing from another axle for the extension, then found some drill rod that i have been saving for 19 years and it was a tight fit. i made the pipe go from one side to the other side for added strength. i have to build this dolly to do other things too so we can't cheap out on strength, lol.

Aint that the truth KoO !

Age is creeping up on us . I'm about the same ... Don't throw anything away as we will need it for a future project .

it took a while but i got my boat axle finished and plumbed with air. just waiting for some tires and we will be good to go. i'm now making the part for the A frame cradle to hook up to the boat which is being built without a stick figure blue print. i welded the crap out of the thick plate to the channel iron which bent it good. now i'm happy because i can't work with anything straight, lol.

it has been 6 years since I built the Pulley on a Stick to make the Screaming Ford a tow truck. last week at -32c we were out hauling in a broken one off the winter road. (trying to learn the new BB format here)
