Looking for information on running Bulky Hulks instead of the regular Galaxy Hulks on Bobcat S300 (or s250's). I am hoping for a larger footprint and thus better floation, traction, and less ground disturbance with my heavy machine. I currently run an S300 with regular Hulks.
Does anyone know if an 80 in. bucket will work with the Bulky Hulks?

I can't answer your question directly, but can offer my experience with an alternative tread design. Take a look at this thread , you'll see what I bought as replacement tires. Photos are on the last page. They disturb the turf less than the standard construction tread, but sacrifice a little in the mud traction.

Thanks. I need something that will hold up in the rock and has traction in shallow, rocky soils for pushing brush. My hulks are so expensive that I hate buying them and watching the rocks tear them up but the ground I disturb with tracks makes it hard to charge a premium for "minimal disturbance".

Thanks for the info..

The tires on the loader that loads the raw shot rock at the quarry I buy at has slicks on it. This seems to be what is run in extremely rocky conditions if that's of any help. I saw a tire this past week that might work well for your application, the tread design was somewhat similar to mine, but only had 2 rows of tread tabs instead of 4. There was more rubber on the ground.

I have been looking into the McLarens. I noticed that Bobcat seems to have copied the Galaxy Hulk but changed the tread a bit. Looks better for rock. I just noticed that. I have to get prices from Mclaren. Was looking at McLaren h.d. airless tires. I like the idea of soft ride..

I just picked up another job on a rock farm.. I cringe to think of the damage I will do if I am not careful.

Sorry this reply is so late but here it is. We run Bulky Hulks on Cat 262 (close to same size as S300). They do work considerably better for flotation and less ground disturbance however, the sacrifice is in the real muddy conditions. They have more of a tendency to sit on top and float/spin.

I can't tell you how they will hold up to rocky environments but we use them primarily for concrete removal which is both driving over small broken pieces and turning constantly on concrete. This is our second set on our second machine and both machines went/will go 1500+ hrs on a set. Only one possibility of a flat and that was quickly solved with goop in the tires put in by the dealer to solve a imperfection in the tire when they first installed them and they would not totally seal on the rim.

As far as the 80" bucket requirement, We run 78" Virnig HD Dirt Bucket and we have 1 1/2" extra clearance on both sides. You would have to check with the Bobcat dealer to check the specific specs on width but I am fairly certain it would be within those requirements.
