I reckon that's pretty good going for the line loader to stand the swinger back up like that.

As an aside, the broken head made an interesting pattern in the pick up windscreen. Wouldn't wanna see that the hard way though...

I was amazed to see the super snorkel standing the yarder back up, also. The booms on them don't look like they are built that heavy. Like most things they don't take much pressure side pressure. I see used some logs to support and spread the loaded weight, tilted him back to help with the lift. Sure neat to see what can be done, with a minimum of equipment and man power. Those rocks kept him from going on over, but sure raise havoc with the cab.

Ya know, if I was driving a p'up and realized I was about to go head on with that, I'd be dead of fear before we hit.

Just curious. Did they determine the cause of that upset? My gut feeling is an oncoming vehicle passing in a curve.

Looking at those pickups, I'd have greased the seat and then died of fright.

That isn't the first logging truck to start into that corner on the right hand side of road and end up on the left shoulder on its side . Its an "S" corner that's sharp coming out of it , the weight of the load shifts to the right , then shifts to the left as you exit the second corner , if your a little quick the momentum carries you over to the left shoulder and rearranges the drivers side mirror . The truck configuration of a TANDEM Tractor , a JEEP followed by a TRIAXLE Trailer is about the most unstable combination of axles under a logging truck I have ever driven . The pictures prove my theory .

Rental0014.jpgRental0023.jpgRental0024.jpgRental0026.jpg 044s are famous for fires under the drums, bark and dust piles up under the drums. I would think this is what happened with these two.

That looks like a lucky trucker there that things did not go much worse than that.

It looks like the logs bound up against the booster axle and stopped it from going the rest of the way over.
