Genie TZ-50 Basket only moves in one direction

I've got a Genie TZ-50 that has the option that articulates the basket left and right in addition to swinging the entire boom. For whatever reason the basket only moves right no matter whether we use the Blue or Yellow motion buttons. I've been told by one of my guys that if he messes with it a whole bunch (pushing the buttons) that he eventually gets it to move left. I haven't been so lucky and right now the basket is swung all the way right.

I tried calling Genie, they sent me to my local dealers (who really only rent equipment) so they haven't been much help.

I'm going to try and isolate the 24v Picker relay's that might be responsible for that motion, but I'm wondering what else I could/should be looking at. It's not a complicated chain, some wiring, a relay or 2 and a valve or 2. I just need to figure out what needs to be replaced.

Any ideas on this one?

Thanks

I believe Hertz who rents equipment but didn't want to get involved in providing any kind of support. Also Trico which was bought out by some other company and was unable to provide much of anything.

I studied the guides/part manuals and noticed that I could just swap the connections on the solenoids on the basket boom arm with the short boom function. It worked and allowed me to straighten the basket. I put the plugs back in their original positions. These solenoids have 2 plugs for 2 movements.

Doing that told me that the button, wiring and solenoids are OK I believe the problem lies with the automotive style relay's under the basket control box. A few of them look pretty bad. I'm going to order and replace all 4 in that box and the 1 that I found down by the ground side control box. This machine is almost 10 years old and it's time for some serious refurb/maintenance.

Ignore my last part of my last post. Doing what I did, did not verify that the button worked, just the solenoid. Doing what I did, used the button, relay and wiring from the other circuit. I still think it's the relay, but will find out once I replace them. At very least, I got the basket straitened up and was able to use the machine.

If you swapped the coils around and it worked, you need to check the voltage at the coils. On those Genie units (TZ-50), I've had them loose the ground either in the ground control box or at the coil for that function. Just something to check. In the GC box, the top five or so terminals are the grounds for that unit. You and back probe the negative wire on the coil plug and attach a negative out of the GC box and see if that works.
