I purchased an older New Holland LS170 I have had it for years and it has run great. Well today I was moving some 6ft logs around and I was tilting the forks forward to drop a log and it just shut off. When you turn the key the buzzer just sounds. But there are no lights at all and it won't start. When I flip the toggle switch up in the fuse box it will start and move but the boom will not move and there are no lights. All of the fuses appear to be OK. Does anyone have any suggestions on the problem?

update; With researching my problem I found that the IEC/EIC (which ever one it is) fuse was blown. So to easy right? I replaced the 5 amp fuse and it fixed the problem... For 5 seconds in which time the fuse blew again. What can cause it to keep blowing the fuse? What does the EIC/IEC do?

The EIC is the electronic information center (control panel) in the cab. It's the part that knows if the seat switch and seat belt switch say that you are ready to go and let the engine and hydraulics operate. Possible that you have a short in the wiring harness somewhere. I just went through the same thing with mine but I had a bad EIC. The reman'ed EIC cost over $700. :(
I don't have a schematic but durallymax helped me with the pins / color codes here: https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/showthread.php?52344-LS-170-Electrical-Problems

The EIC controls everything, for how old these machines are and being simple skid steers, there's a lot of stuff going on with the EIC.

The service/run switch allows the machine to start and run without EIC intervention. It does not allow the hydraulics to be unlocked.

You replaced the 5 amp fuse in the engine compartment? Pin 14 of connector 2 on the EIC is fed by that fuse via a Red/Light Green wire. Verify there is not a short somewhere with that wire and make sure the grounds are in good shape at the engine. The seat switch(s) are also fed by that fuse via a Light Green/Red wire, verify there is not a short in that wire also.
