Got a call yesterday that the loader had a bit of a smell. Got out there and you could not touch the diffs they were so hot. Paint is discolored red on them and the rain drops would vaporize when the touched it. Small amount of dirt under peddle was causing them to drag. Now the question is how bad did they get hurt. Machine has 3000 on it. Changing fluid in them and figuring seals will need done althoe no leaks at the moment. Any one run into this, might run it a bit than change fluid again and see what the magnetic plugs pick up.

I would be concerned about the internal brake and diff lock seals. And friction material from the brake fiber disc creating contamination . The oil circulates through both diffs if I am not mistaken. MO deal with it now !

Last one that I did that got that hot (same issue) needed bearings also. There were blued hot spots on all races. Ended up doing brake disk frictions and steels (blued too) all seals and bearings. Got new brake linkage as it was road salt not dirt

I changed the fluid and ran it a bit with no seal issues so far. Guess I'll have to monitor the fluid to se if there is any bearing issues.
