By joves TC that was a fair bit of epic typing on your behalf there :notworthy
Mankind had to sit down there and have a breather halfway through just to read that tale of epic endurance.
Anyhow its Anzac day down here at the bottom of the world; our rememberance day of WW1. for NZ and Australia
so heres a pic I thought you might enjoy of englands finest, with a load it could remember !:beatsme as there is hills in my terrain that left no cobwebs whatsoever on granddaddy low !

Merv, a few years ago I was listening to my Wireless as I worked away, the topic was Istanbul this sort of locked my mind up to the point that as soon as I landed home I told the Bride to get air tickets the next day for the first flight that we could take to pop and take a look at this odd spot, we also had a boat ride over to the area the Anzac's faced upto the enemy, it seemed the Men came a long way to a place of no real merit to fight other men they had never seen, its the same in France with Graves of the fallen Soldiers as far as the eye can see, its so Very Sad words cannot do any good to convey the way the World has been.
The K.M. Bedford would probably handle a PC 400 without any trouble so I cannot understand your doubt on the task, in the U.K. that would have been an easy back load on a Waggon with that H/Power. tctractors

Don't worry about the mule, load the wagon! Yee ha! That tractor looks like the old Chevrolet cabovers with the v-6 jimmy motors. Was Bedford one of the Generals subsidiaries down under?

you must have very flat roads where you are if you reckon a KM could handle a PC400 TC. Either that or that 'vitmo' you talk about is super potent rocket fuel for them !
Many down here were repowered with 6V53 and 6V71 detroits; but that one was just a 500 cubic inch Bedford motor; 5 spd x 2spd diff. And we were in low low on 13% grades with just 20 tonne of pc200.
Your 'top gear team' actually did a trip up in my very end of NZ where the KM had to take this digger. Was where they started the yacht vs car race. was on tv here last year. Anyhow she made it there an back no worrys, so heres another for you ford 2418 with a log onboard ! ford 001.jpg

Merv, the Bedford trucks in the U.K. were top items with many very large Transport outfits had managed to get up on their feet through dogging the hell out of T.K's and K.M's, I was bluffing you some on the PC 400 task, I don't think the Ford Chariot can take the Boot like the Bedford though.
OldandWorn, that gunge that looks like paint is transmission oil and engine coolant mixed due to the trans' cooler failing.

Is that paint?

I think that is a new type of coolant saves having to use different fluids in crankcase and radiator.:D I believe that bundle of tubes is a special mixing device for this coolant/lubricant. We have a 988H that worked the same way but we decided to retrofit it with a separated cooling system sure was a pain to get the white stuff out of the radiator!:D

wild8r, I don't want to sound like a "Nutter" but if that chariot was a child it would be killed at birth, in the U.K. you might get locked up for driving that beast, the Defender is the good banger to have here, there was 600 or so Defenders sent to the U.S.A. only as the U.S. kick up crap about imports etc, this was seen as a good thing by the people in the U.K. other than Land Rover, anyhow with the Defender coming to a finish on December 18th this year the thought of me driving that thing about, well lets say its never going to happen, I would rather walk or catch a Bus would be the polite way of popping the verbs on that beast, anyhow thank you for your consideration and time to post your picture but that thing is so not me, do they sell these things in your patch?

p.s. I have started sticking on some of the fancy bits to my new chariot, I also took a peep at the Bill for them, if the Bride sets eyes on it I will be getting "Picture but no Sound" for some time???

Hate to say it but that would probably sell like crazy over in the USA! Never understood why they put those low profile tires and fancy rims on a truck or SUV. I mean one little chuck hole and tire and rim is scrap. But then those who buy them think running off road is parking on the fresh mowed grass at the county club. Then at the other extreme are the guys who think they need tires more suited to a small front end loader!

Hi B'p, good to think you are missing my rubbish, the new chariot is very good making quite an impressive improvement on the last 1, the "Firm" that is me by myself has been busy as usual although the phone is not ringing as often this last month, here in the U.K. we have just had an election on our Government, this causes a damping down of industry until the smoke clears, I have not been to active with my KodaK as the jobs have been on lots of new stuff fitting extras etc, I will look to see if there is anything worth posting, on the outlandish spend on fancy junk to mount on the new chariot, well credit to the Bride she never said a word other than " I paid your Bill today for all those things you think you needed" so that was painless to say the least, 1 job I had was to fit all new undercart to a D6R LGP whilst the owner helped (get in the way) the job was as usual Hard Work with a 10 min Tea Break every 10 hours wanted or not, this was a frame out task including an adjuster re-seal,we started on the Friday afternoon and popped the tractor onto the low loader Sunday night ready for Early Doors Monday start so I earn' t nothing out of that job other than sweaty overalls, I have some front idlers to swap out today on another LGP tractor I will get a snap.
