Hi

I have a 2007 Case MXU 110 tractor 900hrs- ploughing yesterday and low engine oil alert comes on. Error code 3028.

Tractor is working but not killing it and buzzer/alert goes off quickly when you take the load off the engine. It would start about 20ft from the end of the paddock and the reduction in load turning saw it go off, it would cycle like this about every 5 to 30 minutes and it would do the same again.

Weird thing is its showing medium pressure on the gauge ie 5 or 6 bars out of 10 at 1800rpm. At idle 3 are displayed, full revs 7/8 bars. With everything checked, oil levels etc etc .Tried to go working again earlier, and didn't alert until engine was about 3 hours into the paddock.

Outside temp was 31deg c and tractor temp gauge was as per normal, no drop in performance or noise, again take the load off it ceases the alarm.
Have parked it up for further investigation.

Any ideas with what is going on with it ?

Thanks.

More info,

Cold start had 6 bars of pressure vs 3 bars when idling after working & hot. Pressure reduced as engine warmed up and at 1500rpm had 8 bars cold and could only manage 6 on full revs when hot again.

This may shed some light on reasons perhaps.

Regards, Bruce.

Throw a mechanical gauge on it and see what it comes up. Sender could be giving a false reading.
