I know to some people are not fans air bag dump bed conversions and I do understand. We did mine last summer. I got tired of looking at junk for sale. So I bought a 07 International 9900 it got 10 speed, c13 cat,4.30's, 12,000 front, 40,000 rears. The truck will be used more towing my 20 ton tag. Not going to be a day to day pit truck. Davis Truck and Trailer in Little Rock,AR did the conversion. They were very nice to deal with. I got their high lift gate. I serviced, cleaned and polished the truck before. I also had to move the exhaust. I got lucky and found cab brackets 30 miles away for $120.00. I just used straight pipes for the stacks.

Wow. Nice job and setup.
Sorry to ask but what kind of dollars did Truck cost you?
Been looking to do something similar.

The Davis bed, PTO, Cab controls and install was around $12,500 + options. The 60,000# tow package was $980. My truck already had trailer brakes. I added the high lift gate, a poly liner and a tool box. They had the truck a day. Davis built the bed before I arrived. They had them lined up going out when I was dropping off. I don't see shops like them much but appreciate it when I do.

Nice truck , just about what I want. I have been looking but mostly what I find are state trucks that have all the snow gear on them. And they are rusted pretty bad. I am considering doing what you have done. Tractors seem easy to find. I'm in the same boat about the air ride. My neighbor is an engineer at Hendrickson , he told me air ride is ok on a dump as long as your not going to off road it a lot. I will mostly use mine to pull a 20 ton trail king similar to your trailer.

the first guy i worked for bought a 379 tractor and did the same thing. then he built a gantry and would lift the dump body off and put the 5th wheel back on and move his excavators on his 35 ton lowboy. took about 45 mins with 2 guys to switch everything out

Great looking rig. Trailer looks great too after all that hard work. You've done a lot of work my friend, hitch plate, conversion and all. I've never ran a dump with air bags but I've loaded a good bit and you can tell when you dump a bucket in there from a loader. I'm sure it's a smooth ride though. Well nice truck, dozer, excavator, polishing work, etc.

You can rig a dump valve to deflate the air bags, when unloading, makes things a lot more stable when raising the box. Common setup around here on air bag equipped log trucks and chip trailers. Saves wear and tear on the rear shocks when the weight of the load gets hoisted off suddenly.

a dump valve is a must, popping a bag can does and has happened a couple million times now
